We are deeply shocked and saddened by the recent news concerning Federal Member for Indi, Helen Haines.

Helen has been a longstanding supporter of Albury Wodonga FoodShare, and we are incredibly grateful for the genuine interest, encouragement and advocacy she has shown for our work and the communities we support over the years.

Helen means a great deal to our region, and at this difficult time, our thoughts are with her, her family and her team.

Our food relief goes further than you think! 🚚 💚

Food insecurity affects communities right across our region, and that's why our work extends well beyond Albury Wodonga!

Over the past 12 months, our FoodShare vans have travelled an incredible 84,062 km, rescuing and delivering food and essential supplies across a 150 km radius of Albury Wodonga.

From local supermarkets to regional towns and communities, every kilometre helps us get good, nutritious food to where it's needed most.

Reliable food relief takes people, partnerships and plenty of kilometres!

A huge thank you to our volunteers, suppliers and supporters who help keep our vans on the road and make this vital work possible.

💚$6,000 donated. One simple request.

"Please make sure it helps the people in need."

Last week, an anonymous donor walked into our Community Pantry and made an extraordinary $6,000 donation, declining a receipt, or any recognition
Just a genuine desire to help local people doing it tough.

As we reflect on Anti-Poverty Week, this incredible act of generosity is a reminder of the power of community.

Through our Community Pantry, every $1 invested can generate up to $61.50 in social, environmental and economic value, when volunteer time, donated food and in-kind support are included.

And while not everyone can give $6,000, every contribution matters. Whether it's donating groceries, volunteering your time or sharing what you grow, it all adds up.
Because when our community comes together, generosity multiplies. 💚

Good food should be available to everyone. 🥕

This World Food Day, we're celebrating the difference our Community Pantry makes across Albury Wodonga.

Over the past 12 months our Pantry distributed 164,417 kg of food, with 6,859 vouchers redeemed and 19,788 people supported. Behind these numbers are local households choosing the groceries that suit their needs, preferences and families.

Meet Allen! 👋

Although, if you’ve been around FoodShare for a while, chances are you already know him!

For the past decade, Allen has been a valued member of our volunteer team, driving for our Community Pantry and navigating for our Warehouse not to mention happily jumping in photos whenever he is asked! (Thanks Allen)

While Allen volunteers to support local people, it’s the social connections he enjoys most, from catching up with familiar faces to meeting new people along the way.
And he’s not alone! 80% of our volunteers say volunteering helps them feel socially connected. 💚

Food insecurity is closer than you think. It isn't always visible, but it's affecting households right here in our community.

1 in 3 Australian households experienced food insecurity in the past 12 months.

With rising living costs and everyday financial pressures, more people are finding it difficult to put enough food on the table.

This Anti-Poverty Week, we're raising awareness of food insecurity and the importance of working together to ensure everyone in our community has access to good, nutritious food.

Local fundraising. Local impact. 💚

A huge thank you all the members at the Thurgoona Golf Club and Thurgoona Country Club Resort for their incredible donation of $8,750, raised through their recent Golf Day fundraiser!

When the Club contacted FoodShare, they told us they wanted the funds raised to stay within our community and make a difference locally—and that’s exactly what this generous donation will do.

And its impact goes even further. An independent evaluation found that FoodShare’s Community Pantry generates $10.70 in social, environmental and economic value for every $1 invested.

That means support like this doesn't just help us put nutritious food on local tables. It contributes to broader benefits for individuals, families and our community.

Thank you to everyone at Thurgoona Golf Club and everyone who supported the Golf Day for choosing to invest locally and help us continue building food security, together.
