He's back just in time for winter! ❄️

If you've followed FoodShare for a while, you'll know John. Every few months, he arrives at our Community Pantry with a generous donation, and this time was no exception.

John delivered an incredible 265kg of food, including meat, cheese, butter, milk, cereal, eggs, oil, frozen vegetables, pumpkins, coffee, tea and other pantry essentials.

As demand for food relief continues across our region, donations like John's help ensure local families and individuals can access the nutritious food they need.

Thank you, John, for continuing to help us build food security, together. 💚

A huge thank you to the incredible team at Quest Albury Apartment Hotels for their ongoing support of FoodShare.

Not only have they once again opened their doors as a donation drop-off point, but the Quest team has already collected an amazing number of donations in the first few weeks of our winter appeal.

If you'd like to contribute, you can drop off non-perishable food donations at 450 Townsend Street, Albury during operating hours.

Thank you, Quest Albury, for helping us feed locals this winter! 💙

Oh what a lime 🎶🍋‍🟩

15kg of limes were delivered to our community pantry earlier this week. A mix of community donations from people’s backyard harvests, along with a generous box full from Wodonga Central Probus Club!

Some Things Matter More Than $15

A warm meal. A stocked pantry. Knowing your kids will eat tonight.
For thousands of local families, those things are becoming harder to hold onto.

FoodShare has spent 15 years supporting people across our region with food and dignity. This year, we are asking 15,000 locals to give just $15 to help continue that work.

Small enough to give. Big enough to matter. GIVE 15

Tuesday Thanks 👏

On the last Tuesday of every month, team members from Hume Bank volunteer with FoodShare to help support our local community.

A big thank you to today’s volunteers, Dee and Venura, who spent the day at the warehouse alongside Helen, while Kath helped out at the Community Pantry with Narelle.

Thank you all for taking time out of your workday to lend a hand and make a difference.

And thank you to Hume Bank for providing team members with such a valuable opportunity to give back to the community 💚

On the last day of Volunteer Week, we’d like to acknowledge the incredible work FoodShare volunteers do every single day.

Volunteers are 97% of FoodShare’s workforce and are the absolute heart of everything we do. Every day, they’re rescuing and sorting food, preparing orders for the 120 agencies and schools we support from Albury-Wodonga to Corowa to Wangaratta to Corryong and Wagga who help provide food relief to their local areas. Meanwhile volunteers are also at our Community Pantry helping around 600 families a month access healthy food in a dignified way.

Its about 25,000 hours that our volunteers put in to help lend a hand. Their support alone is valued over a million dollars but you just can’t put a value on what they do for the 125,000 people who are having to choose between groceries, rent, bills, healthcare and now even filling the car can be a battle.

We are beyond thrilled to share two of our volunteers were nominated for Volunteer of the Year at the Wodonga Awards last week. Ray and Di are an absolute powerhouse of a team, we are incredibly lucky to have them. They go above and beyond helping FoodShare in so many ways.

Ray is a passionate Bombers supporter, so this recognition may have been a good distraction for their current state! Di doesn’t follow the footy, but hears Ray from the other end of the house when there’s a game on 😂 Thank you both so much for everything, very well deserved recognition!

Congratulations to all the winners and nominees of the night — your dedication and generosity make such a difference in our community.

FINAL DAY OF OUR NATIONAL VOLUNTEER WEEK GIVEAWAYS!

As National Volunteer Week comes to an end, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to every volunteer who gives their time, energy and kindness to FoodShare.

Our volunteers are the heart of what we do. From packing and sorting in the warehouse, to supporting Community Pantry and fundraising events, your dedication helps us make a real difference across our community.

Today’s prize draw winners are Tony and Steph!

Tony is an Albury resident who has volunteered at FoodShare two days a week for the past four years. He says volunteering is a fun way to give back to the community.

Steph is a new volunteer at the Community Pantry, having joined just a couple of weeks ago. She enjoys the social side of FoodShare and wanted to help now that she has moved into retirement.

Thanks again to APCO Service Stations for generously donating fuel vouchers.
