It was a great honour to have Senator Jess Collins at UOW last Monday. In a joint event with we had a fascinating and wide-ranging discussion about the current geopolitical situation, the Pacific Islands, AUKUS and much more. This event is an unmissable opportunity to hear from one of Australia’s foremost thinkers and policy makers in the foreign affairs field.
Jess Collins is the current chair of the Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade References Committee in Federal Parliament.
Before entering politics she was Project Director of the Australia-PNG Network and a Research Fellow in the Pacific Islands Program at the Lowy Institute where a particular focus of her research was economic development.
Prior to joining the Institute, she completed a PhD on the resettlement of refugees from Myanmar, and a master’s degree in Global Development.

The vibe has been very positive as we fight to keep an incredibly hardworking MP in Parliament to continue working for the beautiful district of Bragg.

Our New and Old Members Night was a great success!
Thank you to all who attended. Particular thanks is extended to new members Lilyana Mitrevski, Luke Clapham, Luke Jansons, Oscar Szwec, Leonard Stewart and Ben Caldwell, and old members Patrick Wynne, Paul Ell and Bede Armand.
Congratulations to Henry Streamer and Luke Clapham who won books signed by Tony Abbott and John Howard, and to Abbey and Rochelle who came second in the NorthGong trivia night!
