💙🏊♀️ A MESSAGE TO OUR WONDAI POOL COMMUNITY 🏊♀️💙
At Wondai Pool, the safety, privacy and wellbeing of every child and family who visits our facility is incredibly important to us.
Unfortunately, we have recently experienced an upsetting incident involving photographs being taken of young girls in their swimwear and shared on social media without their permission.
This is not something we take lightly, and we want to do everything we can to ensure our pool remains a safe, welcoming and comfortable environment for everyone.
We are asking our wonderful community for a little extra support. 💙
📱 Parents and Guardians
Where possible, we kindly ask that you leave your mobile phones in your vehicles when visiting the pool.
We understand that parents love capturing special moments, and taking photographs of your own children during swimming lessons is still absolutely welcome. We simply ask that you remain mindful of other children and families who may be in the background.
📱 Children Aged 12 and Over Attending Without an Adult
We kindly ask that children attending the pool unsupervised hand their mobile phones in at the kiosk upon arrival.
Our staff will keep their phones safe until they are ready to leave.
💙 Why Are We Asking This?
These requests are not about punishing anyone or taking away the fun of coming to the pool.
They are simply about protecting the privacy of our children and making sure everyone feels safe and respected.
We know the overwhelming majority of our community would never intentionally make another person feel uncomfortable or unsafe.
We are not introducing these requests as strict new rules. We are simply asking for your understanding, cooperation and support.
It takes a community to look after our kids, and we are incredibly grateful to have such a caring one here in Wondai.
Thank you for helping us keep Wondai Pool a safe and happy place for everyone. 💙
