💚 Mental Health Month might have come to an end, but caring for our mental health matters every day!

For children, feeling safe, connected and loved helps build the foundations for lifelong wellbeing. And the good news? It’s often the little things we do together that make the biggest difference. 🌱

You don’t need a big plan or a perfect day to support your family’s wellbeing. Try one of these simple ways to connect today:

💚 Play together – even 15 minutes of child-led play can strengthen your connection.
💚 Get outdoors – enjoy a walk, explore the backyard or find something interesting in nature.
💚 Share a story – snuggle up with a favourite book and enjoy some quiet time together.
💚 Check in with each other – ask everyone, “What made you smile today?”

Remember, looking after our mental health isn’t just for the tough days. It’s about building connection, creating safe spaces to talk and making time for the little moments that help our families thrive. 💚

Every day is a good day to care for your mental health. One small moment of connection can make a big difference.

Play is more than fun; it's how children learn to understand the world and their emotions. 💛 Through pretend play, storytelling, drawing and imaginative games, children can explore big feelings in a safe and supported way. There is no need to have all the answers. Being curious, listening and playing alongside your child can make a big difference. Want to know more? Join our next Importance of Play session on Big Feelings and Emotional Play! Tuesday 3rd November 11am in Thornton, in partnership with Maitland Libraries, be sure to register at https://www.trybooking.com/au/event/1589582

💦🫧 Tiny Tykes is making a splash this week! 🫧💦

This week’s Supported Playgroup is all about water play with water trays, bubbles and songs 🎶 Play isn’t just fun — it’s great for little minds and mental health, too.

When children play alongside a trusted adult, they build:
💚 Emotional regulation
💚 Confidence and communication
💚 Secure relationships
💚 A sense of safety and belonging

🌱 This week’s mental health month tip: You don’t need to plan a big activity to support your child’s wellbeing. Follow their lead, get down to their level and enjoy a few minutes of play together. Your attention and connection matter more than grand plans or getting it perfect!

💬 Tell us: What makes your little one giggle the most — bubbles, splashing or singing?

No family should have to choose between food and other essentials.

During Anti-Poverty Week, we're highlighting our partnership with Food is Life - FIL Life project. Every Tuesday, families can access practical food support through our partnership with Rotary Club of Maitland Sunrise Inc City Council . No appointment, no ID, simply turn up and access what you need.

If you or someone you know needs support, please reach out. Asking for help is a sign of strength!
