Victoria State Emergency Service (SES) is the control agency for flood, storm, tsunami and earthquake in Victoria, managing responses to these emergencies and helping communities to prepare through planning and education. As well as operating the largest road rescue network in Australia, we also assist the Victoria Police in search and rescue operations and play an important support role during major bushfire responses.

Congratulation to our members, Erin, Graeme, Belinda, Brett and Peter, who have passed their Crew Member 2 training at SES Woodend Unit. Congratulations also to the members who joined the course from SES Lismore Unit, SES Gisborne Unit and SES Ararat Unit. Well done to all of you and for giving up a weekend of glorious weather to develop your knowledge and skills to help your communities. 🧡

🧡💙💙 Happy Father’s Day 💙💙🧡

We hope you all have a lovely day celebrating the father figures in your lives. We are also thinking of those whose father’s are not with us anymore.

At SES Woodend Unit, we have lots of special Dad’s who give up their time with their families to volunteer and assist the community in times of need and we are so thankful to have them 💙🧡

But you don’t have to miss out on family time…because they can join as well…like Tobin and his daughter Tahlia (Mum, Sue Ellen, is also a member so it’s a real family affair).

Tobin initially joined years ago at SES Gisborne Unit, remains a dual member and was recently recognised for his contribution to the community during the 2021 storm that brought hundreds of trees down across the Macedon Ranges.

Tahlia also joined a few years ago as a junior member at SES Gisborne unit, moving to SES Woodend Unit earlier this year.

🚨Our members have had a busy day today, initially attending a request for assistance with a very large tree blocking the road in Hesket and then attending the Emergency Services Expo at Kyneton, with over 1000 people through the gates. Thanks to Kyneton Fire Brigade (CFA) and Victoria Police Kyneton for hosting us.
