Buloke Shire Council Welcome to the official page for Buloke Shire Council. Buloke Shire encompasses a total land area of 8,000 square kilometres.

Buloke Shire is a predominantly rural area between 210 and 360 kilometres from Melbourne in Victoria's north west. Buloke comprises of the main townships of Birchip, Charlton, Donald, Sea Lake and Wycheproof as well as the smaller townships of Berriwillock, Culgoa, Nandaly, Nullawil and Watchem. Land is used largely for agriculture, particularly grain (wheat, oats and barely) production and sheep grazing. Our vision is a sustainable Council for a liveable community where everyone participates to enrich the cultural, social and economic viability of the Shire and cares for the natural environment.

πŸ“š Children’s Week 2026 🌏

This Children’s Week, we are celebrating the flavours, stories and traditions that make our community unique!

Children aged 0–12 years are invited to share a family recipe and the story behind it as part of our Buloke Shire Taste of our Community Cookbook.

🍲 Whether it’s a treasured recipe passed down through generations, a family favourite, or a dish that brings people together, we would love to hear from you.

Every recipe helps celebrate the culture, diversity and sense of belonging that make our communities so special.

Schools, Kindergartens and Playgroups are also warmly invited to submit a recipe on behalf of their school or group.

πŸ“§ Submit your recipe and a short story about what it means to you, your family, school or community here: https://forms.cloud.microsoft/r/DUWy2AyHLb

Need help or have any questions? Contact us at [email protected]

Please submit your recipe by COB Friday, 13 November.

Together, let's celebrate the cultures, traditions and connections that make Buloke Shire such a wonderful place to live, learn and grow. ✨
