Our first assist of the new boating season came yesterday afternoon when a volunteer crew on board Iluka Yamba 20 was deployed to help two adults and two children after their vessel ran out of fuel, leaving them stranded.

The crew secured the vessel and safely towed it, along with the four people on board, back to shore at the Spencer Street boat ramp at Iluka.

Don’t forget the rule of threes when it comes to fuel. A third to get you there, a third to get you back and third in reserve.
