Yarram Primary School is hiring! We currently have two open positions. We are looking for a Full Time Classroom Teacher and a Part Time Classroom Teacher (3 days per week) to join our team in 2027.

A HUGE thank you to our amazing parent helpers and wonderful school families who supported our Hot Dog Day! ❤️

We sold a whopping 86 hot dogs! 🌭🎉

All profits raised will go towards purchasing tools for our new handyman, who has been doing a fantastic job keeping our school looking lovely and making sure everything is in tip-top shape! 🔨🛠️

🏃‍♀️🏅 Regional Athletics Success! 🏅🏃‍♂️

Yesterday, a group of our talented students travelled to Newborough to compete in the Regional Athletics Championships!

We are incredibly proud of each and every one of our students who competed. They all gave it their absolute best, showed fantastic determination and represented our school with pride!

A special congratulations to two of our Grade 4 superstars who achieved some outstanding results:

🥉 Lexi – 3rd place in the Under 10 Girls Triple Jump

🥈 Isabelle – 2nd place in the Under 10 Girls Triple Jump and 🥉 3rd place in the Under 10 Girls Long Jump

🌟 An extra special congratulations to Isabelle, who has qualified for the State Athletics Championships in Triple Jump! In just a couple of weeks, she will take on some of the best young athletes from across Victoria. What an incredible achievement!

We couldn't be prouder of all our athletes and can't wait to cheer Isabelle on as she takes on the next challenge!

🏀 Grade 6 vs Staff – End of Term Showdown! 🏀

We love finishing each term with a different sporting challenge against our Grade 6 students — plenty of laughs, teamwork, school spirit and, of course, a healthy dose of competition!

For the end of term 3 we hit the basketball court for a little friendly competition. ⛹️‍♀️⛹️‍♂️

We are SO proud of Tallulah, who had the Big Chop today! She has only had two haircuts in her life and made the decision to donate her beautiful hair! Her locks will be used to make wigs, and Tallulah has also raised money for children who have suffered permanent hair loss due to medical conditions. We were so lucky to be part of her big event. Way to go T!

✍️ Handwriting in Room 5! ✍️

Room 5 students have been working hard on their handwriting this term, with a particular focus on developing their speed loops.

Regular handwriting practice is an important part of developing confident and capable writers. As Dr Nathaniel Swain highlights in his evidence-informed approach to literacy, explicitly teaching and practising handwriting helps students build fluency and automaticity. When forming letters becomes quicker and more automatic, students can use more of their brainpower to focus on the important stuff – their ideas, words and sentences! 🧠✏️

These samples show some of the fantastic progress Room 5 students have made as they develop greater speed, rhythm and control in their writing.

📚🎨 Room 1 & 4 Visit the Gippsland Art Gallery! 🎨📚

Yesterday, our Room 1 and 4 students ventured to the Gippsland Art Gallery in Sale for a guided tour and hands-on art workshop.

Students were inspired by Natasha Bieniek’s Labyrinth, the winning piece of the 2026 John Leslie Art Prize. 🖼️✨ Taking inspiration from the incredibly detailed artwork, students then had the opportunity to create their very own tiny masterpieces during the workshop!

What a wonderful opportunity to experience award-winning art up close and be inspired to create something of their own. 🎨💛
