Although we’ve seen some rain in recent days, conditions remain dry, particularly in the western parts of the state. Firefighters have been kept busy responding to a number of fires, several of which were caused by escaped burns.

While the Bush Fire Danger Period is no longer in place for all LGAs across NSW, we urge residents and land managers to check conditions before lighting a burn and remember that you are required to notify the RFS and your neighbours at least 24 hours before burning.

To notify the of your intention to burn, visit our website: www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/notify

So true,Check your fire alarms

“Check your bleeping smoke alarm” 💨 🚨

We love ❤️ this message from our mates at Fire and Rescue NSW Station 387 Mudgee.

Unfortunately there have already been a number of house fire fatalities already this year in NSW, especially with winter arriving.

If you haven’t already, PLEASE 🙏 make sure you change your batteries and check your alarms are working.

Don’t make you wish you’d checked your BLEEPING 🤬 smoke alarm if the unthinkable happens to you!

Come see for yourself why you never put water on a fat fire.

Fire and Rescue NSW is this coming Saturday May 9th from 10am-2pm.

We'll also help with any home fire safety questions and the kids can have a look over our trucks and the uniforms we need to wear.

On behalf of the President, Executive and Members of the VFFA our thoughts are with the families, friends, and colleagues affected by last night’s tragedy in Ballina.

We extend our deepest condolences to everyone at Marine Rescue. The loss of fellow volunteers is felt profoundly across our entire emergency services community.

We also acknowledge the life lost in the incident they were responding to, and extend our deepest condolences to their loved ones.

We honour the selfless dedication of those who serve, always putting their communities before themselves.
