Bush Nippers is coming back to Lake Mulwala in January 2027! 🌊

After a fantastic pilot program earlier this year, we’re excited to bring Bush Nippers back to help local children build the skills and confidence to stay safe in and around our inland waterways.

With World Drowning Prevention Day reminding us of the importance of water safety, there’s no better time to look ahead to another summer of learning, fun and lifesaving skills on Lake Mulwala.

📍 Lake Mulwala
📅 January 2027

Stay tuned, more information, dates and registrations will be announced soon!

Moira Shire Council Life Saving Victoria

Last year rivers, lakes and dams claimed more Australian lives than beaches did.

Today is World Drowning Prevention Day.

This year children in Yarrawonga spent three days learning to read Lake Mulwala. Currents. Submerged objects. How to get themselves out, and how to help someone else out.

It was the first time Bush Nippers had run at Lake Mulwala. Our Discovery Camps team ran it again at Lake Dewar in Myrniong.

Delivered by Life Saving Victoria, with Moira Shire Council and the Y.

Bush Nippers returns in 2027.
