Yass Valley Brigade - NSW RFS

Directions

Yass Valley Brigade - NSW RFS Situated in the Southern Tablelands district in the Yass township, supporting the local area.

Yass Valley Support Brigade is apart of the New South Wales Rural Fire Service. All members of the brigade are volunteers and train regularly to fight bush fires, grass fires, building and vehicle fires, as well as attending motor vehicle accidents for fire suppression/protection. We respond to various incidents throughout the year anywhere in our area and at anytime. We train every fortnight throughout the year except between November - February as these are generally high fire seasons and due to family and work commitments to ensure we are one of the best Brigades in our area. If you are interested in joining the RFS or our brigade we encourage you to come down to the Yass Fire Center at 1410 Yass Valley Way to our training nights (every 2nd & 3rd Wednesday of the moth) and get more information and necessary paperwork. You are not required to become an active Firefighter as there are many other roles that you can help in.

ANZAC Day 2026.
Over the weekend, a small group of our members attended the local ANZAC march in Yass. Deputy Captain Lincoln and Zeke, along with Crew Leader Paul and Firefighter Grady, participated in the march alongside returned servicemen and women, local veterans, and the Gallipoli company from the Royal Military College. As always, our Senior Deputy Captain Ed sounded the Last Post and the Reveille. We thank these members for their turnout and participation.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

Lest we forget

It’s the perfect time to chat about fire safety—especially with the colder months upon us. As we start using heaters, electric blankets, and wood fires, let’s make sure we’re keeping our homes safe and warm.

Stay safe, stay warm this winter!!

This Saturday 10 May 2025 is Open Day! From 10am to 2pm, 511 invite you inside for a glimpse into Fire and Rescue NSW. Enjoy a bbq, have a chat about home fire safety, free giveaways, and the chance to meet your local firefighters.

We were honored to march in the Yass ANZAC Day March today alongside Fire and Rescue NSW Station 511 Yass. A proud moment for our services to pay our respects and remember those who served.

Lest we forget

24/04/2025

Today, on ANZAC Day, we commemorate all those who have served and died in wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations. Mateship, sacrifice and the willingness to volunteer are all defining qualities of the ANZAC spirit.

However you choose to spend this important day, please take a moment to give thanks to those who have served and continue to serve our country – and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for us all.

We will remember them. Lest we forget.
