Today, Barbados joins the world in marking the International Day of Persons with Disabilities under the theme “Fostering disability-inclusive societies for advancing social progress.”
The Ministry of People Empowerment & Elder Affairs (MPEA) continues its quest to improve the lives of Persons with (PwD's) in Barbados.
Therefore, the MPEA Minister - the Hon. Kirk Humphrey - extends an invitation for all to attend the Town Hall Meeting on the report on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of PWDs ( ).

🌐 ♿ A Milestone for Digital Inclusion and Accessibility in the Caribbean!
🇧🇧 Caribbean Development Bank is pleased to join with the Ministry of People Empowerment and Elder Affairs in supporting the Legacy Project of the 2025 Caribbean Disability Conference held in Barbados.
📍Launched this weekend, the landmark initiative is designed to break barriers to accessibility and lead to lasting impact.
🤝Together with the Caribbean Disability Network, Barbados Council for the Disabled, and the Ministry of People Empowerment, Elder Affairs - B'dos, we’re building a future where digital access is a right, not a privilege.

Janeil C. Odle, attorney, Combermerian and Secretary of the Caribbean Disability Network enlightened reporters what their bosses need to do to allow deaf or visually impaired browsers to be able to access their stories.
She was addressing the Q&A segment at the headquarters of the Barbados Council of the Disabled after the launch of their Legacy Project as a prelude to the Caribbean Disability Conference, October 17 - 22, 2025.
Its theme is, “Breaking Barriers: Advancing Inclusive Education for All Abilities”.
