On National Indigenous Peoples Day, we recognize the richness of Indigenous knowledge systems and the many ways they help us understand our world, and the Moon. π
The Moon has always guided life, time, and our connection to the land. In many Indigenous cultures, it is associated with a cycle of 13 moons that marks the changing of the seasons and the rhythms of nature. It is not only a place to explore, but also a source of knowledge, story, and relationship.

The June marks the yearβs northernmost sunset and sunrise. It brings the yearβs longest period of daylight to the Northern Hemisphere (and shortest period of daylight in the Southern Hemisphere). The solstice is a whole-Earth event. It happens at the same instant for all of us, no matter where we are on Earth's globe, the instant the sun reaches its northernmost point in our sky.

π Is Earth really round? You donβt need to go to space to prove it.
We live in a world where satellites are launched almost daily β and yet some people still question whether Earth is round. π€―
So instead of arguing, letβs observe.
Ships disappearing below the horizon, time zones, different constellations, lunar eclipses, shadow lengths, airplane routes, and other planets all point to the same conclusion: Earth is not flat.
The best part? Many of these proofs donβt require special equipment β just curiosity and a willingness to look closely.
Here are 7 observations that reveal Earthβs true shape π

The Spirit rover (Mars Exploration Rover A) left our planet to begin the journey to its new home OTD in 2003. This view captured 20 years ago at the beginning of 2006 shows rippled sand deposits of the "El Dorado" ripple field in Gusev Crater on Mars.
Designed for a 90-day mission, Spirit operated for more than 6 years on Mars. It's twin, Opportunity, operated for almost 15 years.
