This morning, the members of Rotary Club of Dhaka Fort — one of the largest Rotary clubs in Bangladesh — stood beside the hardworking rickshaw pullers of Bailey Road by distributing raincoats with love and compassion.

Every day, these humble heroes wait under the rain to protect their passengers with plastic sheets and hoods, yet most of them have no protection for themselves. Thinking from a humanitarian perspective, Rotary Club of Dhaka Fort took the initiative to wrap them with Rotary’s care through specially made raincoats, so they can stay safe from sudden rain and monsoon showers.

A small gesture of kindness can protect health, prevent diseases, and bring smiles to those who silently serve society every day.

Let us inspire humanity through action.
“Service Above Self.” 💙

Japan in May: Discovering the Goldilocks Zone

May is considered one of the best times to visit Japan, thanks to its pleasant weather, clear skies, and lively atmosphere. As spring transitions into early summer, the country becomes especially beautiful during this time of year.

The month begins with Golden Week, one of Japan’s busiest holiday periods. For fewer crowds and a calmer experience, the second half of May offers the same beautiful weather with a more intimate glimpse of local life.

While cherry blossoms begin to fade, May brings its own breathtaking blooms. From the cascading purple wisteria at Ashikaga Flower Park to the dreamy blue hills of Hitachi Seaside Park, the scenery feels almost surreal.

May is also rich in culture and tradition. Colourful koinobori carp streamers fly across the country for Children’s Day; Tokyo comes alive with the electrifying Sanja Matsuri, and the Grand Sumo Tournament draws crowds from around the world.

For nature lovers, the Northern Japan Alps offer dramatic mountain escapes, from the Kurobe Gorge Railway to the towering snow walls of the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route.

From seasonal flowers and cultural festivals to scenic mountain landscapes, May offers a well-balanced travel experience that showcases Japan at its most vibrant.
