Chris Doty does not have my vote and neither should he have yours. He's been endorsed by a far right hate group and he has documented incidents from multiple individuals where he acted without morals including sexual harassing female staff and bullying of those who disagreed with him or he didn't like. The evidence speaks for itself, this man belongs NOWHERE near children.

The organizers of this event have opened the meeting room to all. Get out there and make your voices heard! Ask questions of the candidates on the important issues! Make sure they stand with the right side of history and our community including the marginalized among us. Don't let one side of the aisle dominate the meeting.

Eight years ago, I held the first of three vigils that were held in Highlands County for the victims of Pulse. That ignited the fire for community activism in me, I knew in those dark moments that followed the heinous massacre, that I could no longer stand on the sidelines and let others do the work for me, I was being called forward to pick up my sword. Today we remember them and celebrate their gifts and collectively mourn with their families and their friends. We work for a better world where a tragedy like Pulse, where 49 angels lost their lives, will never happen again.

Florida is a right-wing red denizen, governed by a man who, like Alito, appears to be hell-bent on moving the U.S. and Florida backwards to the 17-1800's, but we're working hard to change things, little by little. In the interim, a little advice, he's not alone, their ilk is growing like weeds, so if it's in your plans, think carefully where you move to, or if you're already elsewhere, it pays to be "aware", a term, that despite the completely ignorant way it's been used, is simply and more properly known as "woke".
