🇫🇷🇩🇪 Strengthening cultural collaboration in Bangladesh! 🇧🇩
Ahead of Europe Day 2026, 𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐧ç𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐝𝐞 𝐃𝐡𝐚𝐤𝐚 and 𝐆𝐨𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞-𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐡 officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote shared European values through strategic cooperation, educational exchange, and collaborative cultural initiatives in Bangladesh.
The MoU was signed by Alliance Française de Dhaka Director 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐧ç𝐨𝐢𝐬 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐮𝐝 and Goethe-Institut Bangladesh Director 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐖𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐫 on Wednesday, May 6th, 2026, in the presence of the Ambassador of France to Bangladesh 𝐉𝐞𝐚𝐧-𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜 𝐒é𝐫é-𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐞𝐭 and the Ambassador of Germany to Bangladesh 𝐑ü𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐋𝐨𝐭𝐳.
This partnership reflects the enduring Franco-German commitment to European integration, dialogue, and cultural exchange. Through joint educational programs, workshops, teacher training, and joint cultural and art events, both institutions aim to strengthen intercultural understanding and bring European cultures closer to the people of Bangladesh. This collaboration also reflects the unique co-location of the French and German embassies in Dhaka.
The collaboration also highlights the unique cooperation between France and Germany in Dhaka and their shared vision for cultural engagement, innovation, and learning.
Frank Werner stated, “We share the same values, we have similar strategies, and together we create a synergy that makes us stronger.”
François Chambraud added, “With this MoU, we are formalising our existing cooperation in order to collaborate more closely on language teaching and cultural programmes. In doing so, we aim to enhance the visibility of Europe in Bangladesh through the lens of Franco-German cooperation.”

As the exhibition “𝐁𝐮𝐝𝐝𝐡𝐚 𝐨𝐟 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐥: 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐒𝐚𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲” reaches its final day, you are invited to a thoughtfully curated closing ceremony celebrating art, performance, and reflection.
The programme will include the conferring of five Best Bengali Buddhist Art Awards by the Oriental Painting Study Group and Learning Design Studio, including a special recognition reserved for participating students.
A key highlight of the evening is a dance performance of 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐫 𝐏𝐮𝐣𝐚, the celebrated dance drama by Rabindranath Tagore. Rooted in Buddhist philosophy, the piece explores devotion, dignity, and the constraints of social hierarchy. It centres on Srimati, a court dancer who defies the king’s decree by offering her sacred puja within the temple. Despite facing humiliation and eventual ex*****on, her unwavering devotion leads to spiritual transcendence.
The role of Srimati will be performed by 𝐒𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐡𝐧𝐚 𝐒𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐡𝐚, bringing emotional depth and grace to this timeless narrative.
The evening will also feature a jugalbandi of Esraj and Sarangi by 𝐒𝐡𝐮𝐤𝐥𝐚 𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐫 and 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐚𝐤 𝐃𝐞𝐛𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐡 𝐖𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐤, alongside a dance presentation by 𝐀𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐍𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢.
All are warmly invited to witness this evocative closing, marking the culmination of the exhibition through a shared experience of art, music, and movement.

A Shared Condition moves between the personal and the collective, challenging the idea that emotions and psychological states exist in isolation. Rooted in pareidolia, Alvee’s works allow forms to emerge organically from abstraction, revealing layered narratives of memory, identity, and shared experience.
Featuring nearly 100 works across painting, prints, and digital media, the exhibition expands beyond a traditional “solo” into a collaborative platform with panel discussions, workshops, screenings, performances, and more.
Join us in experiencing art as a space of dialogue, process, and collective becoming.
