'Project Nirbhik' will be hosting a special interactive webinar titled “মুক্তিযুদ্ধে নারী” on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 from 5:00 PM (GMT +6) to 6:00 PM (GMT +6). Through this session, we aim to address the contribution of women and their sacrifices, their role and participation in 1971 to have a sovereign country named Bangladesh. However, in our mainstream history, the role of women in our liberation war is generally ignored, overlooked, and easily misinterpreted. Therefore, we believe that it is high time to acknowledge the role of women and their sacrifice in 1971 to make a positive attitude about the women in our society.

We will be having the evergreen Afsan Chowdhury who via his documentary film "Their War - তাহাদের যুদ্ধ" brought before everyone the stories, plights of the unheard. And we will also be having the lady with a beautiful heart, Leesa Gazi who touched hearts of thousands of people through her directorial debut documentary film "RISING Silence".

The 1972 constitution established equal rights for women and men in "all spheres of the State and public life". But over the course of history women in different roles of our society have been systematically deprived of their rights, and financial rights is no exception.

No control over inherited land, No safety of personal resources like jewelleries, No say in how husbands use her money, No right over anything that involves monetary resources - This needs to be stopped.


১৯৭২ সালের সংবিধানে "রাষ্ট্র এবং জনজীবনের সকল ক্ষেত্রে" নারী ও পুরুষের সমান অধিকার প্রতিষ্ঠিত হয়েছিল। কিন্তু ইতিহাসের ধারাবাহিকতায় আমাদের সমাজের বিভিন্ন ভূমিকায় নারীরা পরিকল্পিতভাবে তাদের অধিকার থেকে বঞ্চিত হয়েছে এবং আর্থিক অধিকারও এর ব্যতিক্রম নয়।

উত্তরাধিকার সূত্রে প্রাপ্ত জমির উপর কোনও নিয়ন্ত্রণ নেই, গহনার মতো ব্যক্তিগত সম্পদের কোনও সুরক্ষা নেই, স্বামীরা কীভাবে তার স্ত্রীর অর্থ ব্যবহার করে তার উপর স্ত্রীর নিয়ন্ত্রণ নেই, আর্থিক সম্পদ জড়িত এমন কোনও কিছুর অধিকার নেই - এই প্রথা বন্ধ করা দরকার।
