Last year’s severe winter shook the entire country, and newspapers reported how unbearably cold it had become. Dhaka also faced an intense cold spell, and the s*x worker community was no exception. With irregular income, many of them could not afford warm clothing during the harsh winter.

With your generous contributions, our volunteers from Gift For Good, Alokito Shishu, and Volunteer Opportunities distributed 100 blankets across Sadarghat, Dhalai Para, and Kamalapur.

Our heartfelt thanks to all the volunteers in Kamalapur and Sadarghat who helped carry out this blanket distribution with dedication and care.

On January 22nd,2024, Lightshore Foundation and Gift for Good with support from Senora, organized an important menstrual hygiene program at Rangabali Model High School, Patuakhali.

We at Gift For Good truly appreciate this impactful initiative. Free sanitary napkins were distributed to 665 students, and sanitary napkin dispensers were installed to ensure long-term support. The awareness session on menstrual hygiene and breaking harmful taboos was a crucial step toward empowering young girls.

With RYS – Rangabali Youth Society as the local partner, JCI Dhaka Founders as the strategic partner, and Daily Ittefaq as the media partner, this initiative made a meaningful difference.

During the bone-chilling winter of 2024, our Gift For Good team stood beside vulnerable families in northern Bangladesh. We distributed 200 blankets in Phultola (Balapara), Debiganj, Panchagarh. Across Dinajpur and Panchagarh, a total of 1,000 blankets were distributed with the support of the Bangladesh Society for the Enforcement of Human Rights (BSEHR).

Our volunteers worked tirelessly throughout the day to make this initiative successful. Heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped bring warmth to those in need.

Even five days after the water receded, life in Bandarban was far from normal, with signs of devastation everywhere. Our Gift For Good team visited different unions of Lama Upazila and distributed food supplies to affected families.

Our volunteers worked tirelessly to ease the struggles of as many families as possible. We aimed to support around one thousand families in Lama and Ruma with one-week food assistance.

In September 2024, our Gift for Good team had an incredibly meaningful experience while working in the flood-affected areas. Our volunteers worked with full dedication, standing beside one another as one united team to support families in need.

This time, we were able to provide 15-day food support to 3,000 families across several districts. Even though floodwaters had receded in many parts of the country, Dighali in Lakshmipur was still underwater.
On September 4, our team reached 400 affected families, delivering two weeks’ worth of food packages directly to their homes.

On August 28, 2024, even though floodwaters had receded in many parts of the country, several areas of Kobirhat Upazila in Noakhali still remained submerged — in some places, waist-deep water.

Amid these challenging conditions, our Gift for Good team reached over 500 households, going door-to-door to deliver food packages to families who had not yet received any relief support.

In August 2024, the floods in Lakshmipur severely disrupted daily life, leaving families in deep hardship and uncertainty.

With the support of our local team, the Gift for Good volunteers reached the Bamni area, where we distributed food to 200 families who were struggling to meet their basic needs.

Our next goal is to establish a community kitchen in the area, ensuring that we can serve 1,000 people every day with warm, cooked meals during this crisis.

In August 2024, after nearly two days of relentless effort, our food-loaded cargo vessel finally made its way back to the ghat. The strong currents had pushed the vessel all the way toward Hatia, making the journey incredibly difficult.

Through heavy rain and long hours, our Gift for Good team stayed on board and took full responsibility for ensuring the supplies remained safe and reached the right hands.

Yesterday, the vessel finally anchored at the Ramgati ghat, and the food packages were delivered to our volunteers working in Noakhali and Lakshmipur to continue the relief distribution.

In August 2024, we met people who once spent Eid and Puja giving gifts to others…
but this time, because of the devastating flood, they themselves had to rely on gifts for survival.

In the areas of Kazirbag and Govindpur Banglabazar in Feni, our Gift for Good team reached families who had lost nearly everything. We were able to support 150 families with essential supplies, offering them a moment of relief and hope during this difficult time.

Our relief efforts are still ongoing across Feni, Noakhali, Khagrachhari, and Khulna, as we continue standing beside communities most affected by the floods.

Gift For Good has always been among the first responders in times of crisis.

The 2024 floods were unforgettable—our volunteers reached affected communities, delivered relief, and stood by families when they needed it most.

Being there for people in their toughest moments is at the heart of what we do. Together, we can face any challenge and ensure no family is left behind.

As part of the July Revolution activities, our Gift For Good team conducted a cleaning drive at Mirpur Model Police Station (Mirpur-2). This station had been one of the most affected in Dhaka, but after our team’s efforts, it looked significantly cleaner and more organized.

We sincerely thanked everyone who supported this project, especially our young volunteers. Their hard work and enthusiasm played a crucial role in making this effort successful.

We believed that the dedication and passion of people like them would help bring meaningful change in building a new Bangladesh!

As part of our Gift For Good initiative, the Alokito Kori team, along with many young volunteers, worked hand in hand to clean the Mirpur Darus Salam Police Station. The station staff were genuinely amazed by the dedication, energy, and teamwork shown by everyone involved.
