The Palestinian Presidency strongly condemned and rejected the approval of a law by the Israeli parliament, the Knesset, permitting the ex*****on of Palestinian prisoners, calling it a blatant violation of international humanitarian law.
In a statement issued on Monday, the Presidency said the law constitutes a clear breach of the Fourth Geneva Convention, particularly the protections it guarantees for individuals and the safeguards for fair trials, as well as a violation of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.
The Presidency stressed that the legislation amounts to a war crime against the Palestinian people and is part of broader escalations in Israeli policies across the occupied Palestinian territories, including Gaza, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem.
It emphasized that such laws and measures will not break the will of the Palestinian people or undermine their steadfastness, nor will they deter them from continuing their legitimate struggle for freedom and the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The Presidency also welcomed a statement issued by several European countries calling on Israel to abandon the legislation permitting the ex*****on of Palestinian prisoners, noting that the position aligns with international law principles.
It called on the international community to assume its legal and humanitarian responsibilities by taking decisive action to halt these violations, hold Israel accountable, and impose sanctions for its ongoing crimes against the Palestinian people, including torture, solitary confinement, and the systematic killing of prisoners and detainees in Israeli prisons.
The Presidency further warned of the dangerous repercussions of such racist laws, saying they could escalate tensions and threaten prospects for security and stability in the region.
It reaffirmed that the issue of Palestinian prisoners will remain a top priority, stressing that it will continue working at all international forums to ensure their protection, secure their release, and hold those responsible for crimes against them accountable.

The slaughter continues in Gaza. Yesterday, Israeli airstrikes killed at least 9 Palestinians.
In northern Gaza, a strike hit a tent camp in Jabalia, killing four people, as displaced families were taking shelter there after losing their homes.
In the south, another airstrike in Khan Younis took five more lives.
Most alarming of all, these airstrikes continued despite an ongoing ceasefire.
Even in supposed moments of “peace,” the violence has not stopped.

On 04 February, strikes by the occupying forces killed at least 19 Palestinians, mostly women and children. Among the dead were five children, including a 5-month-old baby and a 10-day-old newborn, as well as seven women and a paramedic.
These killings occurred despite a ceasefire in place since October 10, 2025. Since then, more than 550 Palestinians have been killed. For the people of Gaza, it feels as though the war never truly stopped.
