Localisation Learning & Sharing Workshop | Turning Local Voices into Local Action
Localisation is not simply about working at the local level—it is about putting local actors at the centre of decisions, solutions and change.
On 12 August 2026, the Localisation Learning & Sharing Workshop was held at Lakeshore Hotel, Gulshan-2, Dhaka, under the Climate Action at Local Level (CALL) Programme. The workshop brought together development partners, civil society, community representatives, practitioners and other stakeholders to reflect on how locally led development can become stronger, more inclusive and more effective in Bangladesh.
The workshop created a valuable space to share field experiences, strengthen a common understanding of localisation, and explore practical pathways for organisational change. Participants were introduced to the CALL Localisation Framework, Localisation Self-Assessment Tool and Adaptive Action Plan Framework—tools designed to help organisations assess their current practices, identify gaps and move towards more locally led approaches.
The event was attended by Dr. Indira Gartenberg, Asia Regional Representative, Solidar Suisse; Md. Farid Ahamed, Program Manager, Solidar Suisse; Saki Rezwan, Chairperson, OSHE Foundation; and Md. Alam Hossain, Project Head, OSHE Foundation.
The key message was clear: meaningful localisation requires more than participation—it requires local leadership, shared decision-making, stronger partnerships, capacity strengthening and space for local actors to shape sustainable solutions.
Together, we can move from consultation to co-creation, from local participation to local leadership, and from commitments to concrete action.
Farid Ahamed, Program Manager; এবং OSHE Foundation-এর Saki Rezwan, Chairperson ও Md.
