SREDA successfully organized a seminar on the “Renewable Energy Roadmap in Bangladesh” on 23 April 2026 at Bijoy Hall, Bidyut Bhaban, Dhaka. The event brought together policymakers, government agencies, utilities, generation companies, private sector representatives, development stakeholders, and renewable energy experts to discuss strategic pathways for accelerating Bangladesh’s clean energy transition.
The seminar served as an important stakeholder consultation platform to present the draft roadmap and gather expert insights for developing a practical, inclusive, and forward-looking renewable energy strategy aligned with Bangladesh’s long-term sustainability goals.
The program featured a keynote presentation by Dr. Ashraful Alam, Member (Renewable Energy), SREDA, highlighting the vision, targets, and implementation priorities of the draft renewable energy roadmap. The presentation was followed by an engaging open discussion and Q&A session, where participants shared recommendations on policy alignment, institutional coordination, investment opportunities, technology adoption, and implementation challenges.
The closing session was honored by distinguished dignitaries:

The seminar witnessed active participation from representatives of key organizations across Bangladesh’s energy ecosystem, including the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC), Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB), Power Grid Bangladesh PLC, Dhaka Power Distribution Company Limited (DPDC), Dhaka Electric Supply Company Limited (DESCO), West Zone Power Distribution Company Limited (WZPDCL), and other public utilities.
Participation also included representatives from major power generation companies such as Bangladesh-China Power Company (Pvt.) Limited, Electricity Generation Company of Bangladesh (EGCB), North-West Power Generation Company Limited (NWPGCL), Ashuganj Power Station Company Limited (APSCL), Rural Power Company Limited (RPCL), Coal Power Generation Company Bangladesh Limited (CPGCBL), and Power Cell, Power Division. Industry associations and renewable energy stakeholders including the Solar Module Manufacturers Association of Bangladesh (SMMAB), Bangladesh Sustainable and Renewable Energy Association (BSREA), and Bangladesh Biogas Development Foundation also contributed valuable perspectives during the discussions.
The seminar highlighted the importance of cross-sector collaboration in shaping a robust renewable energy roadmap capable of supporting Bangladesh’s national targets, strengthening energy security, and advancing sustainable economic development.
