Today, the Nature Study Club organized a workshop on “Rhizofiltration” which was conducted by our very own SJIS Grade 9 student Anirudha Nath. Rhizofiltration is a form of phytoremediation that involves filtering contaminated groundwater, surface water and wastewater through a mass of roots to remove toxic substances or excess nutrients. Our students showed a great enthusiasm about the topic and through an interactive Q/A session they kept themselves engaged in the workshop till the end. We are thankful for the presence of the 50 members who attended today and learned an unique concept as “Rhizofiltration”.

Today, the Convenor of the Nature Study Club, Md. Muktadir Hassan, along with two Board members and two students from Grade 8, attended a conference on Sound Pollution and Its Solutions held at the Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation. The program was organized by the Bangladesh Environmental Lawyers Association (BELA), a member of IUCN. It was an insightful event where the students gained valuable knowledge about the causes of sound pollution and explored possible ways to address this issue. The discussion broadened their understanding of environmental challenges and encouraged them to think critically about practical solutions. Overall, it was a meaningful and inspiring experience for all participants.
