ge Resilience Fund (BCCRF), a coordinated financing mechanism by the Government of Bangladesh, development partners and the World Bank. Reflecting its strong commitment to United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), the Government of Bangladesh formulated Bangladesh Climate Change Strategy and Action Plan (BCCSAP) 2009.The fund was created in the fiscal year of 2009-10; and since then the Government has allocated BDT 27 billion (USD 385 million approximately) to this fund. As of April 2014, 282 projects (219 by government agencies and 63 by NGOs) have been undertaken with an aggregated estimated cost of BDT 19.97 billion. While BCCT is concerned with the projects implemented by government agencies, the management of NGO projects has been delegated to Palli Karma- Sahayak Foundation (PKSF). BCCT provides administrative and organisational support to the Trustee Board and the Technical Committee formed under Climate Change Trust Act, 2010. It receives and scrutinizes project proposals submitted by different ministries/divisions of the government, and places them to the Technical Committee for screening. The Technical Committee verifies the viability of the projects and recommends to the Trustee Board for its approval/disapproval or any revision, if required. It is entrusted with the overall management of Climate Change Trust Fund (CCTF) including the release of funds for the projects approved by the Trustee Board. It coordinates with the Climate Change Focal Points of different ministries/divisions, communicates with concerend stakeholders including civil society, NGO, private sector and international agencies. It also monitors and evaluates the projects approved under CCTF. Upholding the strong determination and commitment of the Government of Bangladesh in addressing the concerns arising from climate change, Bangladesh Climate Change Trust (BCCT) is keen to develop and expand its activities further.
