দেশে অধিকাংশ বিনিয়োগকারী স্বল্পমেয়াদি লাভের আশায় বাজারে প্রবেশ করে। ফান্ডামেন্টাল বিশ্লেষণ, ক্যাশ ফ্লো, ঋণ-ইকুইটি অনুপাত এসব বিষয়ে সচেতনতা কম। ফলে গুজবভিত্তিক লেনদেন বাড়ে। উন্নত বাজারে ইনভেস্টর এডুকেশন প্রোগ্রাম বাধ্যতামূলক ও কাঠামোগত। বাংলাদেশে তা সীমিত এবং প্রভাবহীন। এ প্রসঙ্গে বাংলাদেশ ইনস্টিটিউট অব ক্যাপিটাল মার্কেট (বিআইসিএম)-এর নির্বাহী প্রেসিডেন্ট ওয়াজিদ হাসান শাহ গতকাল ইত্তেফাককে বলেন, বিনিয়োগকারীদের বিনিয়োগ শিক্ষায় আগ্রহ কম কেন? এ বিষয়টা নিয়ে গবেষণা দরকার। অনেক বিনিয়োগকারী জানেই না, বিনিয়োগ শিক্ষার সুযোগ আছে। এক্ষেত্রে ব্রোকারেজ হাউজগুলোকে এগিয়ে আসতে হবে। বিআইসিএম-এর এই নির্বাহী প্রেসিডেন্ট বলেন, বিনিয়োগকারীরা বিনিয়োগ শিক্ষায় শিক্ষিত হলে দেশের শেয়ার বাজারের গভীরতা বাড়বে, গুজব নির্ভর লেনদেন কমে যাবে।

Bangladesh Institute of Capital Market (BICM) and DSE Stock Brokers Association of Bangladesh (DBA) Sign MoU to Enhance Capital Market Education, Training, and Research

DHAKA, Bangladesh – 17 February 2026 – The Bangladesh Institute of Capital Market (BICM) and the DSE Brokers Association of Bangladesh (DBA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today to collaborate on capacity building, research, and professional development within the capital market sector.

The signing ceremony took place at the DBA Board Room in DSE Tower, Nikunja, Dhaka. Mr. Wajid Hasan Shah, Executive President of BICM, and Mr. Saiful Islam, President of the DBA, signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations.

The signing was witnessed by Mr. A S M Sayem, Company Secretary of BICM, and Mr. Md. Didarul Gani, Secretary of the DBA.

Under this agreement, BICM and DBA will work together to educate stakeholders on the opportunities and importance of capital market investments. Key initiatives include:

✏️Training and Workshops: BICM will organize regular workshops, seminars, and learning sessions for officials of the DBA and employees of all DSE TREC Holder companies.

📄 Certificate Programs: BICM will offer generic and customized certificate and licensing programs for trading professionals.

💸Course Discounts: Employees of DSE TREC Holder companies will receive a flat 25% group waiver on registration fees for online certificate courses and a 10% group waiver for offline courses, provided a minimum of five nominations are sent through the DBA.

📚 Expert Support: BICM faculty members will provide technical expert support for investment and capital market sessions organized by the DBA.

🔍 Research Collaboration: The DBA will support BICM's research endeavors by sharing pertinent market data and encouraging the inclusion of BICM researchers in projects conducted by member DSE TREC holder companies.

To facilitate these initiatives, the DBA will allow BICM to display promotional materials at the DSE Tower and circulate information regarding courses to its members. Additionally, the DBA will provide relevant information to help assess training needs and capacity-building requirements for human resources in the capital market.

This collaboration represents a sincere effort by both organizations to support nation-building and create a more financially literate investment community.

Admission is open for the 10th Batch (Spring 2026) intake of the Master of Applied Finance and Capital Market (MAFCM) program offered by Bangladesh Institute of Capital Market - BICM in affiliation with the University of Dhaka.

The program offers a unique blend of applied and practical learning approach for the finance professionals, especially those planning to grow in the capital market.

The faculty comprises industry experts, practitioners from the regulatory bodies, the Ministry of Finance, stock exchanges, and market intermediaries, apart from the regular pool of qualified faculty of BICM having terminal degrees from reputed national and international institutions.

Classes are held in the evening, on weekdays, to facilitate learning of working professionals.

The institute is conveniently located at the center of the city with easy access from all corners, including a direct metro rail stoppage at the doorstep (Bangladesh Secretariat Stoppage is a few steps away from BICM).

The degree is awarded by the University of Dhaka and is the only program that offers a Master's Degree on Applied Finance and Capital Market in Bangladesh.

The program is open for students of all disciplines to join, provided they meet the minimum admission criteria and a satisfactory score in the admission test.

Admission test (Written) is waived for members of professional bodies like ICAB, ICMAB, ICSB, CFA, ACCA, etc. Those having scored a minimum of 500 in the GMAT or 300 in the GRE are also exempt from appearing in the admission test. They have to apply and face a viva-voce to get into the program.
