The 7th Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of Bangladesh Mr. Syed Yusuf Hossain has breathed his last today (Monday) on the 5th Day of June, 2023. (Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun) On behalf of the members of Audit and Accounts Department of Bangladesh and BCS (Audit & Accounts) Association, we mourn the untimely death of Mr. Hossain. May Allah grant Zannatul Ferdous to his departed soul. Mr. Hossain served the office of the Auditor General from 8 August, 1999 to 4 February, 2002. He was a former Defense Secretary of Bangladesh and a former chairman of Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission. We convey our sincere condolences to the bereaved family members. The Janaja prayer was organized by BCS (Audit & Accounts) Association at the premise of Hishab Bhaban, Segunbagicha. The CAG of Bangladesh Mr. Mohammad Muslim Chowdhury and the former CAGs Mr. Masud Ahmed and Mr. Ahmed Ataul Hakim, along with Controller General of Accounts (CGA) Mr. Md. Nurul Islam and other high officials of Audit & Accounts Department were present on the occasion.

We are celebrating the Golden Jubilee of Audit and Accounts Department of Bangladesh. On the 11 May 1973 the First CAG of Bangladesh took oath. From that day 11 May is observed as Bangladesh Audit Day. We the employees of Civil Audit Directorate join the jubilation of the whole Department. We extend our sincere thanks and gratitude to all our auditees and the valued citizens of our country who are the ultimate owners and sources of Power.
The most remarkable thing that I should share with you is the Cadre Officials starting from 1963 Batch of Pakistan Audit and Accounts Service to 40th BCS (Audit and Accounts) Service of 2022 are present in the occasion. We are proud to take part in the jubilation.

That is really a big leap not only for social and economic sector, but also for public financial management. কিছুদিন আগে পর্যন্ত শুধু সরকারি কর্মচারীদের পেনশন ব্যবস্থাপনা সরকারের জন্য বড়ো চ্যালেঞ্জ ছিলো, কিন্তু iBAS++ ও EFT এর ভর করে শুধু সরকারি পেনশন নয় করোনায় ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত লক্ষ লক্ষ পরিবারকে সফল ভাবে সহায়তা প্রদান করতে পেরেছে। এর ফলে ষাটোর্ধ সকল জনগণকে পেনশন প্রদান করা সম্ভব। বিষয়টি নিঃসন্দেহে চ্যালেঞ্জিং তবে পূর্ব অভিজ্ঞতা কাজে লাগিয়ে সরকার সফল হবে, ইনশাআল্লাহ। Public Financial Management এর জন্য এটা একটা গুরুত্বপূর্ণ পদক্ষেপ।।

দেশের ষাটোর্ধব সব নাগরিককে পেনশন সুবিধার আওতায় আনতে পদক্ষেপ নেওয়ার নির্দেশ দিয়েছেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা।
