Change and Disaster Statistics (ECDS) Cell, Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) as a Head of the Cell, BBS during 2018 to date. Now he is a Focal Point Officer of United Nations Statistical Division (UNSD) for implementing the System of Environmental-economic Accounting (SEEA) in Bangladesh. He is also a member of the Inter-Agency Expert Group on Disaster-related Statistics (IAEG) under UNDRR and Expert Group of Disaster-related Statistics under UNESCAP. He was involved the piloted and preparation of the Disaster-related Statistics Framework (DRSF) 2018 by UNESCAP. He was responsible for collecting, compiling and reporting National Accounts Statistics and Price & Wage-related Statistics (CPI and Inflation Rate, WRI, CMPI, HRI etc.) as a Deputy Director, National Accounting Wing, BBS during 2013-2017. He was also responsible for conducting sample surveys, compiling, preparing and publishing such as a) Publication on Bangladesh Environmental Statistics Framework (BESF) 2016-2030, b) Report on Bangladesh Disaster-related Statistics (BDRS) 2015: Climate Change and Natural Disaster Perspectives, c) Report on Bangladesh Disaster-related Statistics (BDRS) 2021: Climate Change and Natural Disaster Perspectives, d) Compilation of Bangladesh Environment Statistics 2017 and 2020 e) Report on Integrating Gender and Social Inclusion in Environment, Climate Change and Disaster-related Statistics 2020 f) Report of the Pilot Survey on Disaster-affected Households: Sex, Age and Disability Disaggregated Data (SADDD) for Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Climate Change Adaptation (CCA) and g) Publications on National Accounts-related Statistics of Bangladesh. He was also responsible for International Comparison Program (ICP) as a National Coordinator (NC) of Asian Development Bank (ADB). He attended the Second Group Training Course on Enhancing Knowledge and Skills of Government Statisticians in Analysis, Interpretation and Use of Social Statistics. SIAP in collaboration with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) conducted the 2-month course in Analysis, Interpretation and Use of Official Statistics (Social Statistics) from 16 January to 16 March 2012. As part of the training curriculum, He carried out an individual project featuring research on analysis and interpretation of appropriate primary and secondary data on a topic related to development issues of his Country Bangladesh. The chosen topics included poverty and its determinants, unemployment, migration, housing conditions, gender issues and health. It was an opportunity to apply newly acquired knowledge and skills on concepts, statistical methods and use of statistical software, such as STATA. He demonstrated his ability to apply presentation techniques during the project work presentations. Now He is serving as a President of the BCS (Statistical) Cadre Association. Formally He was elected as a Senior Vice President and Joint Secretary to the BCS (Statistical) Cadre Association in two different timeline. He is associated with number of social organizations like Naogaon Welfare Samity, Voluntary Association Saraswatipur, Naogaon, ISRT Alumni DU, Bangladesh Sociological Association, 25th BCS Forum, 43rd FTC Cooperative Society, JICA Alumni Association Bangladesh (JAAB), JICA Village Cooperative Society Limited (JVCS), UNSIAP Alumni Association Japan, Bangladesh Statistical Association (BSA)etc. D Research Title: Multidimensional Child Poverty and Deprivation: A Socio-economic study on Children in Bangladesh under University of Dhaka. He did his Master’s Degree and Graduation (4 Years Hon’s) from Department of Sociology, University of Dhaka (During 1997-2001). He was born on 20 December 1978 in Naogaon District of Bangladesh. He is married and blessed with only one daughter. His wife Umme Habiba (Asma) serves as a Research Officer at DRTMC, Dhaka University and completed her BSc (Hons), Msc and Ph.D Degree in Geography and Environment Department from Dhaka University. He participated to the Training Course on Enhancing Knowledge and Skills of Government Statisticians in Analysis, Interpretation and Use of Social Statistics, UNSIAP, Chiba, Japan in 2012 (Long Training). He also participated to the various statistical Trainings/ Workshops/ Seminar/ Expert Group Meetings in the following countries like Thailand (15 times), Japan (4 times), India (5 times), Malaysia (3 times), South Korea (3 times), Singapore, Philippines (2 times), Kenya, United Arab Emirates (UAE), USA and Switzerland.
