BIISS Director General Maj Gen A S M Ridwanur Rahman, awc, afwc, psc, G participated in the China and Neighbouring Countries High-Level Think Tank Forum 2026 entitled "Pursuing Extensive Development and Sharing Prosperous Future" at the Chinese Academy of History at Beijing, China from 28-29 April organised by National Institute of International Strategy (NIIS) of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), Beijing, China. In the Forum, Gen Rahman delivered a Keynote speech titled "Towards A Cooperative Asia Order for Advancing Shared Development". In the opening session of the Forum, Gao Xiang, President of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Phinij Jarusombat, Former Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand, and Hyun Oh-Seok, Former Deputy Prime Minister of Korea delivered their remarks. BIISS Senior Research Fellow, M Ashique Rahman also attended the Forum.

In an era of militarised competition and hybrid threats, security is no longer a background concern. It is a central function of statecraft. The choices made in the early months of the new administration—on doctrine, deterrence, resilience, and institutional coherence—will determine whether Bangladesh remains merely stable or becomes strategically secure.
