Happy Independence Day🇧🇩
On this day in 1971, my father, the then Major Ziaur Rahman, proclaimed the independence of Bangladesh. The war began at his call, uniting all freedom-loving people of Bangladesh to fight against the Pakistani army and liberate our nation.
That defining moment laid the foundation for our sovereign nation, and I’m proud to serve the people of Bangladesh by carrying forward the legacy of Shaheed Zia, safeguarding the rights and freedoms of every Bangladeshi, and building a sustainable democracy with inclusive development.
