Bharat Bhaina-ভরত ভায়না এর অন্যতম নিদর্শন Bharat Rajar Deul-ভরত রাজার দেউল।
Bharat Rajar Deul-ভরত রাজার দেউল দেউল দক্ষিণের জনপদ যশোর জেলার কেশবপুর উপজেলা থেকে ১৯ কিলোমিটার দূরে অবস্থিত। প্রায় ১৮০০ বছর আগে গুপ্ত যুগে এ বিশাল আকৃতির সপ্তকটি নির্মাণ করেছিলেন ভরত রাজা যা বর্তমানে ইতিহাস আর ঐতিহ্যের প্রতীক। কালের সাক্ষী হিসেবে সগৌরবে এখনো মাথা উঁচু করে দাঁড়িয়ে আছে Bharat Rajar Deul-ভরত রাজার দেউল যা স্থানীয়দের কাছে দীর্ঘদিন ধরে (ভর্তের দেল) আঞ্চলিক ভাষায় (Bharater Deul) নামে বেশী পরিচিত।
Bharat Rajar Deul-ভরত রাজার দেউল এর একপাশে রয়েছে সবুজে ঘেরা বিস্তৃত গ্রাম আর অন্যপাশে ভদ্রা নদী। ১৮০০ বছর আগে ভরত নামের তৎকালীন এক প্রভাবশালী রাজা ভদ্রা এই নদীর তীরবর্তী এলাকাসহ সুন্দরবনের অনেকাংশে রাজত্ব আদায় করেছিলেন। কালের আবর্তে তার স্মৃতি ধরে রাখার জন্য তিনি ভদ্রা নদীর তীরে ভরত ভায়না নির্মাণ করেন যা পরবর্তিতে ভরতের দেউল বা Bharat Rajar Deul-ভরত রাজার দেউল দেউল নামে পরিচিতি পায়।
ইতিহাস থেকে আরো জানা যায়, প্রত্নস্থানে খ্রিস্টীয় বিশ শতকের গোড়ার দিকে ১২ দশমিক ২২ মিটার উঁচু এবং ২৬৬ মিটার পরিধি বিশিষ্ট একটি ঢিবির অস্তিত্ব ছিল। ১৮৮৯ সালে ব্রিটিশ সরকারের প্রত্নতত্ত্ব বিভাগের দায়িত্বপ্রাপ্ত সুপারিন্টেন্ডেন্ট কাশীনাথ দীক্ষিত এ দেউল পরিদর্শনে এসে মন্তব্য করেন যে এটি ৫০ ফুটের অধিক উঁচু এবং ব্যাস ৯০০ ফুটেরও অধিক।
বাংলাদেশ সরকারের প্রত্নতত্ত্ব বিভাগ ১৯৮৪ সাল থেকে ২০০১ সাল পর্যন্ত পর্যায়ক্রমে সাত অর্থ বছরের বরাদ্দ পেয়ে এ দেউলে খননের কাজ চালায়। খননের ফলে দেউলটির পূর্ণ অবয়ব মানুষের দৃষ্টিতে আসে। কিন্তু খননের ফলে জানা যায় ১৮৯৭ সালে ভূমিকম্পে এ দেউলের উপরিভাগ ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হয়। খননে সমগ্র প্রাসাদটির ভিত থেকে শেষ পর্যন্ত মোট ৯৪টি কক্ষ পাওয়া যায়। চারপাশে চারটি উইং ওয়াল। এর মধ্যে ১২টি কক্ষ। বাকি ৮২টি কক্ষের সমন্বয়ে এ বৌদ্ধ স্তূপটি তৈরি। স্তূপটির চূড়ায় চারটি কক্ষ। এ কক্ষের দুই পাশে আরো আটটি ছোট ছোট কক্ষ রয়েছে। অধিকাংশ কক্ষগুলো মাটি দ্বারা পরিপূর্ণ। ধারণা করা হয় বৌদ্ধ সপ্তকের উপরিভাগে জাঁকজমকপূর্ণ একটি উপাসনালয় ছিল। প্রাসাদটির চারপাশে তিন মিটার চওড়া রাস্তা রয়েছে। উপাসনালয়ের চারপাশে বৌদ্ধ ভিক্ষুরা প্রদক্ষিণ করে পূণ্য অর্জন করত। চারটি উইং দেয়ালে যে ঘরগুলো ছিল সম্ভবত সেগুলোতে বৌদ্ধ ভিক্ষুরা বসবাস করতেন বা অবসর সময় কাটাতেন।
প্রতিটি কক্ষের দেয়াল তিন মিটার থেকে ১৩ মিটার পর্যন্ত চওড়া। অনেক ইট ৩৬ সেন্টিমিটার থেকে ৫০ সেন্টিমিটার। ইটগুলো দেখলে মনে হবে হাত দিয়ে তৈরি। অবাক করার বিষয় নির্মাণে যে ইট ব্যবহার হয়েছে এত বড় আকারের ইট এতদঞ্চলের অন্য কোনো পুরাকীর্তিতে ব্যবহার করা হয়নি।
স্থানীয় সূত্রে জানা যায়, খননকার্য চলাকলীন যেসব পুরাকীর্তি ও জিনিসপত্র পাওয়া গেছে- তার মধ্যে পোড়া মাটির বাঘের মুখমণ্ডল, মানুষের মুখমণ্ডল, দেব-দেবীর হাতের ভগ্নাংশ। বিভিন্ন প্রকৃতির নকশা করা ইট, পোড়া মাটির খেলনা।প্রত্নতাত্ত্বিক জিনিসগুলো সংরক্ষিত আছে খুলনা বিভাগীয় জাদুঘরে।
Bharat Rajar Deul-ভরত রাজার দেউল এ যাওয়ার উপায়:
Bharat Rajar Deul-ভরত রাজার দেউল দেখতে হলে আপনি যেখানে থাকেন না কেন, আপনাকে প্রথমে খুলনা যেতে হবে। কারণ Bharat Rajar Deul-ভরত রাজার দেউল যশোর জেলাতে হলেও খুলনা হয়ে যাওয়াটা সহজ। তাই ঢাকা থেকে প্রথমে বাস অথবা ট্রেনে করে খুলনা যেতে হবে। সেখান থেকে ভ্যান, ইঞ্জিনচালিত ভ্যান অথবা মোটরসাইকেলে করে আপনাকে Bharat Bhaina-ভরত ভায়না কিংবা Bharat Rajar Deul-ভরত রাজার দেউল অথবা আগরহাটি প্রাইমারি স্কুল নামক স্থানে যেতে হবে। খুলনা-সাতক্ষীরা মহাসড়কের খর্ণিয়া বা চুকনগর হয়েও খুব সহজে Bharat Bhaina-ভরত ভায়না যাওয়া যায়।আবার চুকনগর বাজার থেকে মাহেন্দ্রে অথবা ভ্যানে Bharat Bhaina-ভরত ভায়না নামক বাজারে নামতে হবে সেখান থেকে হেঁটে আসার দুইটা দিয়ে রাস্তা আছে। স্থানীয় লোকজনের কাছে শুনলে বলে দিবে। অথবা চুকনগর বাজার থেকে ভ্যানে অথবা মাহেন্দ্রে একটানা Bharat Rajar Deul-ভরত রাজার দেউল যেতে পারবেন।
ঢাকা থেকে খুলনা বাসে গেলে ভাড়া পড়বে নন এসি ৫০০-৬০০ টাকা এবং এসি ৭০০-১২০০ টাকা।
খুলনা থেকে Bharat Rajar Deul-ভরত রাজার দেউল এ যাওয়ার রুট:
প্রথমে অটোতে খুলনার দৌলতপুর হয়ে মহসিন মোড়ে আসতে হবে, ভাড়া ১০ টাকা(বি দ্র: যে সময়ে পোস্টটি লেখা হচ্ছে তখনকার ভাড়া উল্লেখ করা হলো)। তারপর আবার অটোতে (মাহেন্দ্র) করে শাহপুর বাজার আসতে হবে, এক্ষেত্রে ভাড়া পড়বে ২৫-৩৫ টাকা। শাহপুর বাজারে নেমে এবার ভ্যান অথবা অটোতে যেতে হবে Bharat Rajar Deul-ভরত রাজার দেউল। তবে ভ্যানচালকদের ভরতের দেউল না বললে চিনবে না। ছয়-সাত কিলোমিটার দূরত্ব যেতে ভ্যান ভাড়া নিবে ২০ টাকা। তবে ফেরার পথে ভ্যান/অটো সহজে পাওয়া যায় না। ভালো হয় আপনি যে ভ্যানে যাবেন ওই ভ্যান ড্রাইভারকে বললে উনি আবার নিয়ে আসবেন আপনাকে।
খুলনা কোথায় থাকবেন:
Bharat Rajar Deul-ভরত রাজার দেউল এর আশপাশে থাকার কোনো হোটেল নেই। থাকবার জন্যে আপনাকে খুলনা ফিরে হোটেলে থাকতে হবে অথবা চুকনগর বাজারে কিছু আবাসিক হোটেল আছে। সেই সাথে সন্ধ্যায় রূপসা সেতু থেকে ঘুরে আসতে পারেন।
খুলনায় থাকার হোটেলের মধ্যে সিটি ইন,ক্যাসল সালাম, রয়েল ইন্টারন্যাশনাল অন্যতম। এছাড়াও অনেক মধ্যম মানের হোটেল রয়েছে রাত্রিযাপনের জন্যে।
বিখ্যাত খাবার কোথায় খাবেন:
ফেরার পথে চুকনগরের বিখ্যাত আব্বাসের হোটেল থেকে খাসির মাংশ খেয়ে আসতে পারেন। চুই ঝালের রান্নার স্বাদ আপনাকে তৃপ্তি দিবে এটা নিশ্চিত ভাবেই বলা যায়।
Bharat Bhaina-ভরত ভায়না-One of the signs of Bharat Bhaina is Bharat Rajar Deul-ভরত রাজার দেউল. Bharat Rajar Deul-ভরত রাজার দেউল is 19 km away from Keshabpur Upazila of Jassore District. About 1800 years ago in the Gupta period, this huge shaped Saptaka was built by Bharat Raja, which is now a symbol of history and tradition. Bharat Rajar Deul-ভরত রাজার দেউল, popularly known as (Bharter Del) in the local language for a long time, still stands proudly as a witness of the times.
Bharat Rajar Deul-ভরত রাজার দেউল has a sprawling village surrounded by greenery on one side and the Bhadra river on the other. 1800 years ago, a then powerful king Bhadra named Bharata ruled over most of the Sundarbans including the area along this river. To perpetuate his memory in the passing of time, he built the Bharat Bhaina on the banks of the Bhadra River, later known as Bharata Deul or Bharat Rajar Deul-ভরত রাজার দেউল.
It is also known from history, that there was a mound with a height of 12.22 meters and a circumference of 266 meters in the early 20th century AD. In 1889, Kashinath Dixit, Superintendent of Archeology Department of the British Government visited the Deul and remarked that it was more than 50 feet high and more than 900 feet in diameter.
The Department of Archeology of the Government of Bangladesh received the allocation of seven financial years from 1984 to 2001 and carried out the excavation work in this deul. Excavations reveal the full structure of the deul. But as a result of the excavation, it is known that the surface of the deul was damaged in the earthquake in 1897. The excavation revealed a total of 94 rooms from the base to the end of the entire palace. Four wing walls around. 12 rooms out of it. This Buddhist stupa is made up of the remaining 82 rooms. At the top of the stupa are four rooms. There are eight other small rooms on both sides of this room. Most of the rooms are filled with soil. It is believed that there was a magnificent temple on top of the Buddhist sept. There is a three meter wide road around the palace. Buddhist monks used to circumnavigate around the temple and gain merit. The houses in the four wing walls were probably where Buddhist monks lived or spent their leisure time.
The walls of each room range from three meters to 13 meters wide. Many bricks are 36 cm to 50 cm. The bricks look like they are made by hand. It is surprising that the bricks used in the construction are of such a large size that no other ancient site in this area has used them.
According to local sources, among the antiquities and objects found during the excavations are burnt clay tiger faces, human faces, fragments of hands of gods and goddesses. Various types of designed bricks, burnt clay toys. Archeological objects are preserved in Khulna Divisional Museum.
Ways to go to Bharat Rajar Deul-ভরত রাজার দেউল:
Wherever you live, you have to go to Khulna to see Bharat Rajar Deul-ভরত রাজার দেউল. Because Bharat Rajar Deul-ভরত রাজার দেউল is in Jessore district but it is easy to go to Khulna. So you have to go to Khulna by bus or train from Dhaka first. From there by van, motorized van or motorcycle you have to go to Bharat Bhaina-ভরত ভায়না or Bharat Rajar Deul-ভরত রাজার দেউল or Agarhati Primary School. Bharat Bhaina-ভরত ভায়না can be reached very easily through Kharnia or Chuknagar on the Khulna-Satkhira highway. Again from Chuknagar Bazar you have to get off at Mahendra or by van to the market called Bharat Bhaina-ভরত ভায়না from there. There are two roads to walk. If you ask to the local people, they will tell you. Or you can go to Bharat Rajar Deul-ভরত রাজার দেউল from Chuknagar Bazar by van or Mahendra continuously.
If you go by bus from Dhaka to Khulna, the fare will be Tk 500-600 for non-AC and Tk 700-1200 for AC.
Route from Khulna to Bharat Rajar Deul-ভরত রাজার দেউল:
First you have to come to Mohsin Mor via Daulatpur in Khulna by auto, the fare is Tk 10 (Note: the fare at the time the post is being written is mentioned). Then again by auto (Mahendra) you have to come to Shahpur Bazar, in this case the fare will be Tk. 25-35. After getting down from Shahpur Bazar, you have to go to Bharat Rajar Deul-ভরত রাজার দেউল by van or auto. But the van drivers will not recognize Bharat if they do not tell them. A van will take 20 taka for a distance of six to seven kilometers. But vans/autos are not easily available on the way back. It is better if you tell the van driver that you will be going and he will bring you back.
Where to stay in Khulna:
There are no hotels in the vicinity of Bharat Rajar Deul-ভরত রাজার দেউল. For stay you have to stay in Khulna back hotel or there are some residential hotels in Chuknagar Bazar. Also in the evening you can visit Rupsa Bridge.
City Inn, Castle Salam, Royal International are among the hotels to stay in Khulna. There are also many mid-range hotels for overnight stays.
Where to Eat Famous Foods:
On the way back, you can eat Mutton from the famous Abbas Hotel in Chuknagar. It can be said for sure that the cooking taste of Chui Jhal will satisfy you.
