ArchKU-Khulna University Architecture Discipline

Last week, the "ArchKU–Berger Award 2026" was celebrated as a proud occasion for Architecture Discipline, Khulna University, bringing together ArchKU and Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited in a shared commitment to recognizing academic merit and encouraging future architects.

As part of this celebration, 31 students of the discipline were awarded in recognition of their academic excellence. The event reflected a collective appreciation for dedication, creativity, and consistent effort in architectural education.

ArchKU extends heartfelt thanks to Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited for this meaningful collaboration between academia and industry. We also warmly congratulate all the award recipients and hope this recognition will inspire them to continue pursuing excellence in architecture and beyond.

We are delighted to share that our student Sattyajit Kundu (’21 Batch), has won the Silver Award at the AYDA Awards (Asia Young Design Award) Bangladesh in the ‘Interior Design’ category.

His award-winning project, “RED EARTH,” stood out for its thoughtful approach to adaptive reuse and its strong commitment to sustainability, showing how design can respond to real environmental and social needs while giving spaces a meaningful new life.
A warm congratulations to Sattyajit on this well-deserved achievement. We’re proud of him and wish him continued growth and success in his future endeavors.

Thesis jury session of the 2023-2024 session

Architecture Discipline, Khulna University is pleased to inform you that the 'Thesis Jury' of Batch'20 (Session: 2023-24) will be held on January 18–19, 2026.

In this session, 46 students of 'Design Studio X' will present their final design thesis, marking an important milestone before they enter in their professional practice.

We warmly invite you to join us, as your presence will enhance the jury discourse and inspire our graduating students.

We are proud to announce that our ArchKU team has emerged as the undefeated champion in the Student Debate Competition at the Bangladesh ArchSummit 2025, organized by the Institute of Architects Bangladesh (IAB). This wonderful achievement became possible through the dedication of our debaters and the strong support they received at every step.

We extend our sincere thanks to our team members — Bishnu Saha (22 Batch), Nusrat Jahan Borsha (22 Batch), and Aysha Choton (23 Batch) for their commitment and effort. We also express our gratitude to our faculty and alumni who remained involved throughout the journey, encouraged the team, and helped them prepare with care and guidance.

Learning from the basics of structure, the studio journey progressed toward the project Lokangan, an exploration of architecture as cultural expression. The studio culminated with an exercise in advanced structural thinking and parametric experimentation. Students have developed a computationally driven urban pavilion design, embracing digital tools to translate ideas into form.

Architecture Discipline, Khulna University (ArchKU) is now accepting applications for the Master of Architecture (M.Arch) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Architecture programs for the 2025–2026 session.

ArchKU invites you to our upcoming seminar, titled "স্থান, পরিস্থিতি ও কাজ". This session will be conducted by Saif Ul Haque, Principal Architect of 'Saif Ul Haque Sthapati'. The talk will explore the complexities and creative solutions in architecture, focusing on the significance of place and context in shaping design.
