The confluence of the Ganga-Brahmaputra-Meghna delta has created the Sunderbans. The mangrove forest hosts several wild animals who often come to conflict with humans. Defying the odds of danger, honey gatherers enter the forests and are often prey to the Royal Bengal Tiger. The West Bengal Forest Department (Sunderban Biosphere Reserve) has therefore taken an initiative to stand by the honey gatherers by organizing a group of 70 honey gathering families. The members have been trained at the Maipith Agricultural Science Institute and as a result, they have been producing natural mangrove honey under the brand name "Bonphool" which contains no chemical and preservatives.
Women run self-help group Sondhi has been facilitating the marketing of Bonphool and ensuring that it reaches to every part of India. A certain percentage of the profit earned by Sondhi has been earmarked and utilised for capacity building activities of women and education of the children enrolled in local schools of Sunderban. A volunteer group is organizing a community kitchen at Vivekananda Sisutirtha, the school for which we raised fund for it's reconstruction, on 15th August. They are also planning to provide food kits to 270 students of the school of which they have arranged 150 kits and have sought our support for the rest 120 kits. Each kit includes

1 cake (Rs 5)
1 Suji packet (Rs 15)

Special shoutout to onestep.manysmiles renderthestresscurve rangeenkhidki for joining hands with us and keeping the support on even now. The money we had left from that was dissolved with our main fund and has been used to fund , and in the subsequent interventions.
At present, we are in conversation with muktiweb to assist us with 50 tarpaulin sheets for the affected houses in Pakhiralay.
