বীর প্রতীক, জাতির শ্রেষ্ঠ সন্তান, বীর মুক্তিযোদ্ধা, এবং বাংলাদেশ সেনাবাহিনীর প্রধান, লেফটেন্যান্ট জেনারেল এম হারুন অর রশিদ, বিপি, আরসিডিএস,পিএসসি,( অবঃ) এর মৃত্যুতে গভীর শোকাহত।

মহান আল্লাহ তায়ালা যেন বেহেস্তের সর্বোচ্চ মকাম দান করেন আমিন।

তুমি মরার পর কেউ তোমার চেহারা নিয়ে আলোচনা করবেনা, আলোচনা করবে তোমার চরিত্র নিয়ে। তাই চেহারার থেকে চরিত্র বেশি সুন্দর করো।

অমর একুশে ফেব্রুয়ারি বাঙালি জাতির জীবনে এক অবিস্মরণীয় দিন, যা পাকিস্তানি শোষণের বিরুদ্ধে প্রথম প্রতিরোধের সূচনা করে। ব্রিটিশ শাসন থেকে মুক্ত হওয়ার পর পাকিস্তানি শাসকরা বাংলা ভাষা কেড়ে নিতে চেয়েছিল, উর্দুকে একমাত্র রাষ্ট্রভাষা হিসেবে চাপিয়ে দিতে চেয়েছিল।

বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমানের নেতৃত্বে ছাত্রসমাজ ও জনতা প্রতিবাদে ফেটে পড়ে। ১৯৪৮ সালের ১১ মার্চ বাংলাকে রাষ্ট্রভাষা করার দাবিতে হরতাল ডাকা হয়, যার নেতৃত্ব দেন বঙ্গবন্ধু। এর ফলে তাঁকে গ্রেফতার করা হয় এবং নির্যাতনের শিকার হতে হয়। ১৯৫২ সালের ২১ ফেব্রুয়ারি ১৪৪ ধারা জারি করা সত্ত্বেও ছাত্র-জনতা রাস্তায় নেমে আসে। "রাষ্ট্রভাষা বাংলা চাই" স্লোগানে মুখরিত হয় ঢাকার রাজপথ। রফিক, শফিক, সালাম, বরকত, জব্বারসহ নাম না জানা শহীদদের রক্তে রঞ্জিত হয় মাটি। জেলে থেকেও বঙ্গবন্ধু অনশন করে বাংলা ভাষার দাবি জানান।

এই আন্দোলনই ১৯৭১ সালের মুক্তিযুদ্ধের পথ তৈরি করে। বঙ্গবন্ধুর নেতৃত্বে ৩০ লক্ষ শহীদের রক্ত ও ২ লক্ষ মা-বোনের আত্মত্যাগের মধ্য দিয়ে বাংলাদেশ স্বাধীন হয়।

আজ অবৈধ, ফ্যাসিবাদী শক্তি দেশের রাষ্ট্রক্ষমতা দখল করে মানুষের বাকস্বাধীনতা কেড়ে নিয়েছে। ভিন্নমত দমন করা হচ্ছে, কবিতা লেখার জন্য কবিকে জেলে পাঠানো হচ্ছে। পাকিস্তানি শাসকদের মতোই এই সরকার চিন্তার স্বাধীনতা সীমিত করতে চাইছে। বাংলা ভাষার উন্নয়নের জন্য এই অবরুদ্ধতা ভাঙতে হবে। শহীদদের রক্তের দাবি, আমরা চিন্তা ও মত প্রকাশের স্বাধীনতা অর্জন না করা পর্যন্ত লড়াই চালিয়ে যাব।

জয় বাংলা! জয় বঙ্গবন্ধু!

'Amar Ekushey February' is one of the pivotal moments in the history of the Bengali nation, marking the beginning of the first resistance against Pakistani oppression. After gaining freedom from British rule, the Pakistani rulers sought to strip away the Bengali language, imposing Urdu as the sole state language. Under the leadership of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, students and the masses rose in protest. On March 11, 1948, a strike was called demanding Bengali as the state language, led by Bangabandhu. As a result, he was arrested and subjected to torture. Despite the imposition of Section 144 on February 21, 1952, students and people took to the streets. The streets of Dhaka echoed with the slogan, "We demand Bengali as the state language." The soil was stained with the blood of Rafiq, Shafiq, Salam, Barkat, Jabbar, and countless unnamed martyrs. Even from jail, Bangabandhu went on a hunger strike, demanding the recognition of the Bengali language.

This movement paved the way for the Liberation War of 1971. Under Bangabandhu's leadership, Bangladesh achieved independence through the sacrifices of 3 million martyrs and the honor of 200,000 mothers and sisters.

Today, an illegal, fascist force has seized state power, stripping away people's freedom of speech. Dissent is being suppressed, and poets are being jailed for writing poetry. Like the Pakistani rulers, this government is attempting to restrict freedom of thought. To advance the Bengali language, we must break down these barriers. In the spirit of the martyrs, we will continue our struggle until freedom of thought and expression is achieved.
