On the way back through the border road, an army soldier sitting at the check post box on the side of the road at Mitingachari camp asked me and the bike driver something like this:
Soldier: What's the rush?
Driver: No rush sir I stopped the bike as soon as I saw you.
Soldier: Where are you going?
Driver: Rajostuli.
Soldier: What do you do?
Me: Student .
Soldier: Read what?
Me: Honors
Soldier: Which college?
Me: Rangamati Govt College.
Soldier: Where are you from?
Me: From home.
Soldier: Why did you go?
Me: Biju is on vacation.
Soldier: How many days off? How long have you stayed?
Me: Three days off.
Soldier: Why so soon? Does anyone have a short vacation? What is Biju? New Year's holiday?
Me: Our Biju is three days. Yes, New Year's.
Soldier: What's in the bag?
Me: Clothes, can check. Then I opened the bag and took out all the clothes.
Soldier: After standing for a while, there's a question again?
Me: No Dada I am leaving home.
Driver: Dada, these students are coming for vacation, Biju is over, so they are leaving.
Sainik: Students are more involved in various activities. Ask the driver again, what do you do?
Driver: Grandfather, our job is to run the family as a driver.
For a while, it seemed that Pakistan's military rule might be like this. The military regime of the Chittagong Hill Tracts of independent Bangladesh is not less than that! Where is the freedom of our own land if you have to be accountable to go to your own place to your own home?
