History Of Rangpur Cadet College

1. Education is the backbone of a nation. So, various plans and initiatives were taken to promote it from time to time.

As a part of the continuous process to meet the end, Cadet Colleges are established and gradually the number of Cadet Colleges has been increased to bring about all-out development - physical, mental as well as intellectual-in learners and to make education more effective and fruitful.
2. Rangpur Cadet College, one of the most renowned and traditional educational institutions of north Bengal, has

been continuing its glorious journey since its inception on 01 July 1979, when Rangpur Residential Model School and College was converted into present Rangpur Cadet College as the 6th Cadet College of the country. With a total area of 36.75 acres of land, this college is situated at Modern, Alamnagar, five kilometers to the south of Rangpur city. It stands beside the Asian High Way and adjoins the newly established Begum Rokea University to the north.
3. In the Cadet Colleges, Co-curricular activities like physical exercise, games and sports, leadership, fine arts and literature are conducted along with the regular curricular education. The ultimate goal of these institutions is to impart practical and life oriented education in various fields. That’s why the motto of Rangpur Cadet College is “Knowledge is power.' Class VII Cadets undergo special drill practice just after their arrival every year and this helps them to improve their endurance, patience, perseverance, mental strength, physical fitness and above all to adjust with the daily activities of Cadet Colleges.
4. There are three houses in Rangpur Cadet College. They are Omar Faruque House, Titumir House and Bir Shrestho Jahangir House and the mottos of the three houses are ‘Aim is victory’, ‘We are fearless’ and ‘Invincible in struggle’ respectively. This college has a very rich tradition in academics and has been obtaining top positions in the Board exams. The Cadets have got chance in Bangladesh Armed Forces, BUET, DU, DMC and many other renowned institutions home and abroad and the Ex-Cadets are holding important and prestigious positions in different sectors and providing valuable service round the world. Rangpur Cadet College has progressively been marching forward since its establishment and its individual characteristics are being luminous.

আন্তঃ ক্যাডেট কলেজ ক্রিকেট মিট-২০১৯ (ICCCM) এ রংপুর ক্যাডেট কলেজ বনাম ঝিনাইদহ ক্যাডেট কলেজ এর মধ্যে অনুষ্ঠিত অদ্যকার (১৪ অক্টোবর ২০১৯) ফাইনাল ম্যাচে রংপুর ক্যাডেট কলেজ ঝিনাইদহ ক্যাডেট কলেজকে ৭ উইকেটে হারিয়ে চ্যাম্পিয়ন হওয়ার গৌরব অর্জন করে।

Due to Durga Puja utsav, after Eid-Ul-Adha Vacation the Non Muslim Cadets (Only Hinduism) of all classes will return to college on 01 October 2017 instead of 22 September 2017.

Rangpur Cadet College has achieved a glorious result in its HSC 2017 examination. The college has gained 100% GPA-5.00 (total 51 cadets) in this year following excellent academic results in the past. It is mentionable that 36 out of 51 cadets got Golden GPA 5.00.

Dr Ashraful Bari, MBBS, PGDiploma, MRCPsych, Group Medical Director, Cas Behavioural Health, a proud ex-cadet of Rangpur Cadet College (Cadet Number-503, Batch-12th, 1986-1992) visited his alma-mater on 21st July 2017. He provided motivational session in the Bir Shrestho Mustafa Auditorium for the cadets arranged by the college authority. He had already contributed for the renovation of the College Hospital. His team consisted of two other renowned world class Psychologists Dr. Sarah Foulger, Bsc (Hons), ForenPsyD, CPsychol, AFBPsS, Senior Forensic Psychologist & Dr. Asha Patel, Registered Clinical Psychologist, CEO of Innovating Minds. They also provided some psychological motivation and answered relevant questions asked by the cadets.
