Kailashtila Gas Field

SGFL was originally owned by Burmah Oil Company. The company was abandoned by BOC after liberation of Bangladesh and was taken over by the government.

At present the company has under its umbrella, 5 gas fields namely Haripur (Sylhet), Kailashtila, Rashidpur, Beanibazar and Chatak with 18 producing wells. It is the second largest gas producer in the country. Kailashtilla Field was discovered by Pakistan Shell Oil Company in 1961.
