Less plastic in our seas starts with smarter fishing solutions. 🌊

The BIOFADs solution from the & Waters project SEARCULAR is helping tuna fisheries move towards more sustainable practices with biodegradable Fish Aggregating Devices (FADs).

Made from natural materials, this fishing gear reduces the amount of plastic waste in our waters!

Local action for global impact! 💪

The & Waters project NetTag develops solutions to track lost fishing gear, making it easier to locate and remove it from our waters.

The technology is ready to be replicated across Europe and has potential to support other maritime activities beyond fisheries.

Our fourth joint transnational call is here! ⚡

The Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership is proud to announce the launch of its fourth call, with an estimated budget of €38 million for research and innovation projects across marine and maritime sectors.

The call focuses on four priority areas:

1️⃣ Transitioning the blue economy sectors for sustainability and strategic autonomy
2️⃣ Managing sea uses by advancing digital and ecosystem-based approaches
3️⃣ Promoting sustainable blue bioresources through innovation in marine production and harvesting
4️⃣ Building resilience in coastal communities with infrastructure and businesses

Projects should run for 36 months and involve partners from at least three participating countries. The deadline for pre-proposals is 16 November 2026 at 15:00 CET, with full proposals provisionally due on 14 June 2027 at 15:00 CEST.
