💙💛 Inclusion doesn’t stop at the workplace door.

Having a job is an important step towards independence. But real inclusion means much more:

👉having the opportunity to learn,
👉to make choices,
👉to build relationships,
👉to use digital tools and
👉to participate actively in the community.

For people with intellectual disabilities, including people with Down syndrome, these opportunities should not be exceptions. They should be part of everyday life.

In Lead Your Way, we work to promote supported employment, digital skills and greater autonomy.

We do our best to fight the barriers that still limit access to the labour market and full participation in society.

💙 Because everyone has abilities.
💙 Everyone can contribute.
💙 And everyone deserves the opportunity to lead their own way

Dear LYW community,

Time passes (so) fast and we are already in the middle of autumn.

What do you think of this month's message?

NO ONE SHOULD NEED PERMISSION TO BE TREATED WITH DIGNITY.

🤟 Communication is a right. Inclusion starts when everyone has the opportunity to understand and be understood.

📌On the International Day of Sign Languages, we celebrate linguistic diversity and recognise the importance of accessible communication for building truly inclusive communities.

Inclusion is not only about being present. It is about being able to communicate, participate, make choices and express who you are.

For people with disabilities, communication barriers can affect access to education, employment, services and participation in community life. Removing these barriers is a shared responsibility.

Through Lead Your Way, we work towards a Europe where people with Down syndrome and other intellectual disabilities have greater opportunities to develop their skills, express their choices and participate actively in society and the labour market.

💙💛

Different ways of communicating.
Equal right to participate.
Equal right to belong.

Today, let’s remember: accessibility in communication is an essential part of inclusion!

September, welcome!

Dear summer, thank you for everything you brought along with you!

Do not forget to pack for school:
- your empathy
- your open mind
- your admiration for people who are different than you.

🌎 Fundamental rights belong to everyone!

On this day, 26 of August 1789, The Declaration of the Rights of Man affirmed principles that continue to shape our understanding of human rights today: freedom, quality, dignity and participation.

More than two centuries later, these principles are still asking something from us!

For people with Down syndrome and other intellectual disabilities rights should be more than words (just) written.

Give some of your time and think about:
👉 equal opportunities
👉 access to education and employment
👉 the right to make choices and be heard
👉 the right to participate in community life
👉 respect, dignity and independence
👉 the right to belong

🌏Different contexts. Common aspirations.

Every young person deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, make choices, build relationships, find meaningful work and shape their own future.

Yet for many young people with Down syndrome and intellectual disabilities, these opportunities are still limited by barriers, low expectations and a lack of accessible support.

At Lead Your Way, we believe inclusion means more than being present. It means being heard, respected, supported and given real opportunities to participate in education, employment and community life.

💙 A job is more than a job.
💛 Independence is more than doing things alone.
💙 Inclusion is about having choices, opportunities and a voice.

On International Youth Day, we celebrate the potential of all young people — and we renew our commitment to creating pathways towards supported employment, autonomy and full participation in society.

Because every young person should have the chance to lead their own way.
