We, at the EESC Workers’ Group, express our full solidarity with the Irish trade unions and the hundreds of thousands of public sector workers, taking industrial action to demand fair pay and decent working conditions. We salute the massive participation from all sectors in what is shaping up to be the biggest day of nationwide industrial action since 2008.

We stand firmly with our Irish trade union colleagues in their legitimate demands for meaningful pay negotiations and a fair public service pay agreement.

We fully support your strike and demand for a realistic dialogue with the Government to deliver concrete results for fair wages that guarantee a decent life and keep the pace with inflation.

Your struggle is our struggle 👊

On World Mental Health Day, we speak up about work-related stress and burnout.

Mental health matters. People matter. Behind deadlines, targets, meetings, and expectations are human beings who experience pressure, anxiety, exhaustion, and sometimes silent struggles that no one sees.

We support the European Parliament's initiative for a new EU proposal to prevent, eliminate, or reduce work-related psychosocial risks that can lead to work-related stress, burnout, and mental and physical disorders.

Let’s move beyond awareness and turn our words into action!

Full solidarity with Spanish workers on the 11 November general strike!

The depth of the housing crisis in Spain, and everywhere in Europe, is weakening the basic right to have a home for many.

A decent life cannot happen without a roof, and a decent future cannot be built without it.

On World Day for Decent Work, we’re calling for quality jobs, fair wages and strong workers’ rights across the EU.

Workers deserve wages they can live on, a real voice at work, and a genuine say in their pay and working conditions.

Next week, we’re bringing the debate to Dublin for Decent Work for All in Europe, taking place 13–14 October.
