EUROPEA Family in Austria, Hohenlehen 🇦🇹>>> After lunch we went to LFS Grabnerhof, the oldest agricultural school in Styria and the only school in Austria which provides a programme in Alpine pasturing and livestock herding⛰️🐄🐐🐕 Headmaster Christian Forstner showed us his school where students learn lots of practical crafts skills 🔨🪚🧀🍎🧃🥩 and, of course, agricultural and forestry skills 🚜🐄🐐🐑🌱🌿🪓and knowledge during their apprenticeship.

EUROPEA Family in Austria, Hohenlehen 🇦🇹>>> Our day started with the study visit to the Institute for Agriculture Raumberg-Gumpenstein. We learned a lot about the reasearches of grassland and animals. 🐄🐖🌱

They make trials in order to find the optimal time for mowing the pasture to have the best quantity and quality. Another trial researches how the pasture adapts to the climate change.
Another part of the research is to find new feed mixtures for animals to reduce emissions, for example.

EUROPEA autumn seminar in LFS Hohenlehen 🇦🇹… After lunch students from took us in groups four a very interesting tour on the campus to watch all the places for practical lessons: dairy and suckler cows, forestry, fish, fruit and meat processing, breadmaking, blacksmithing, welding and wood working. A good and healthy diet: the Mediterranean Diet -
In June 2025, the Economic Society of the Province of Salerno –member of Europea International – organised a conference entitled ‘The Mediterranean Diet: opportunities for the region’.

Maurizio Murolo, the national coordinator of Europea Italia, opened the proceedings and moderated the presentations.

The story dates back to the 1950s, when an American nutritionist named Ancel Keys observed that people in the Mediterranean basin lived longer and healthier lives than his fellow Americans and the inhabitants of northern European countries.

NEWS from SWEDEN🇸🇪 and ITALY🇮🇹...
What a fantastic study trip to Italy!
Our 3C agricultural students from returned from an educational visit to Italy, accompanied by Anders, Douglas, and Sara! 🌿☀️
The students and staff received a fantastic welcome from IISS "Basile Caramia – F. Gigante" in Locorotondo and Alberobello! 🇮🇹
Our Italian hosts organized a highly engaging program, through which the students learned about viticulture and winemaking, olive oil production, and the cultivation of ornamental plants. 🍇🫒🌱
The trip also offered an exciting look at how the Italian *Carabinieri* (forestry and environmental police) are recruited and trained, and how they work to protect forests and the environment. 🐴🌳
During the visit, the students were given guided tours of both school campuses and were treated to a wonderful Italian lunch, prepared by students from the school’s culinary program. 🍝😋
There was even time for a swim in the Adriatic and Ionian Seas! 🌊☀️
🇪🇺 This study trip was made possible by Erasmus+!
A huge thank you to our Italian hosts for such a warm welcome and an unforgettable study trip! 💚
