NFIU BGR was represented by LTC KERPISCI Serdar, NFIU BGR J4 Branch Head, whose participation reflects NFIU BGR’s commitment to maintaining strong professional relations with Allied and Partner nations accredited to the Republic of Bulgaria. The event provided an opportunity to reaffirm our appreciation for the cooperation, dialogue, and mutual respect that underpin our shared efforts in support of regional security and stability.

NFIU Bulgaria was honoured to take part in the official reception hosted by the Embassy of Hungary in Sofia on the occasion of Hungarian Armed Forces Day.
The unit was represented by Captain SZENDI Zoltán, the NFIU BGR’s Hungarian Representative and J4 Staff Officer LOGOPS. His participation reflects the strong cooperation, mutual respect, and enduring partnership between our unit and NATO nations.

Today we honor the legacy of the Holy Brothers Cyril and Methodius — enlighteners, visionaries, and creators of the foundation of Slavic literacy and spiritual identity.
24 May is a symbol of knowledge, unity, culture, and national pride. It reminds us that language and education are among the strongest pillars of freedom, identity, and progress.

NATO Force Integration Unit Bulgaria proudly congratulates Captain Lubomir VLAHOV on being awarded a distinction by the Minister of Defence, Mr. Atanas Zapryanov, on the occasion of 6 May – Day of the Bulgarian Armed Forces.
The award was formally presented today by the Commander of NFIU Bulgaria, Colonel BLAGOEVA Daniela, in recognition of Captain VLAHOV’s professionalism, dedication, and exemplary service within NFIU BGR and the Alliance. Advancing Allied Synergy: NFIU Commanders Convene in Bucharest!
From January 28 to 29, 2026, Colonel BLAGOEVA Daniela, Commander of NFIU Bulgaria participated to NFIU Romania hosted pivotal assembly in Bucharest, gathering leaders from eight NATO Force Integration Units (NFIUs) across the Eastern Flank. This high-level meeting united commanders from Bulgaria, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, and Slovakia to deepen strategic cooperation and synchronize command efforts.
A highlight of the event was the regional security and interoperability significantly enriched the collective dialogue.
Key objectives of this essential meeting included:
Operational Integration: Refining synchronization within the updated NATO Command and Control structure.
Logistical Precision: Addressing shared hurdles regarding the rapid deployment and sustainment of multinational forces.
Tactical Exchange: Sharing field-tested best practices and lessons learned from diverse areas of operation.
Future Readiness: Developing joint strategies to remain agile in a shifting security landscape.

We are proud to announce the arrival of OR-7 Yvens CHARLOT to the NATO Force Integration Unit (NFIU) Bulgaria team!
In a formal welcome ceremony held at our headquarters, COL Daniela Blagoeva, Commander of NFIU Bulgaria, officially greeted OR-7 Charlot as he begins his tour of duty. His arrival further strengthens our multinational mission and the vital link between Allied forces and our host nation.
COL Blagoeva highlighted the importance of individual expertise in supporting the unit’s core mandate: facilitating the rapid deployment and integration of the NATO Allied Reaction Force (ARF) and enhancing interoperability across the Alliance’s Eastern Flank.

EXERCISE STONE WALL 25 Concludes in Bulgaria
NFIU BGR is proud to highlight the successful conclusion of EXERCISE STONE WALL 25, a critical demonstration of NATO’s rapid reinforcement capability on the Eastern flank.
During the exercise in Bulgaria, Allied forces demonstrated the ability to scale multinational battle groups up to brigade-sized units with speed and efficiency. The exercise was led by Italy’s 🇮🇹 Pinerolo Brigade and involved vital cooperation among forces from Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Romania, and Türkiye.
STONE WALL 25 showcased NATO’s operational readiness, unity, and unwavering commitment to collective defense.
