The LIKHA Global Business Plan Competition is calling all eligible Overseas Filipino Workers Talent to join the contest through the Migrant Workers Office – Bahrain.
Through innovative and entrepreneurial ideas, OFWs are guided by LIKHA Global to a sustainable future.

In the 2025 LIKHA Global Competition, one of the Bahrain finest became finalist with the unique business plan of OFW AMAYA BUELVA IVENDOZA.

This 2026, we are inviting Landbased OFWs in Bahrain to take part in the competition and showcase your own business ideas!

✅ Open to active and documented land-based OFWs currently working abroad
✅ Must have at least five (5) years of continuous or accumulated overseas employment experience
✅ Must be an active OWWA member
✅ Must not currently own, operate, or be affiliated with any registered or unregistered business in the Philippines
📌 Deadline for submission of entries: 15 June 2026

Each MWO will select one winner who will represent the post in the national round.

The Top 12 finalists will be selected during the LIKHA Global National Business Mentoring Bootcamp in the Philippines.

Eid Al Adha Mubarak from Migrant Workers Office Bahrain

Another successful repatriation mission has been concluded as our distressed OFWs from Kuwait safely departed for the Philippines with the full assistance and support of the Philippine Embassy, Migrant Workers Office, and Overseas Worker Welfare Administration in Bahrin.

Over the course of the repatriation operations, a total of 159 Overseas Filipino Workers and dependents were assisted in their journey home:

• Tuesday, 19 May 2026 – 69 pax
• Wednesday, 20 May 2026 – 76 pax
• Thursday, 21 May 2026 – 14 pax

The Philippine Ambassador for the Kingdom of Bahrain, H.E. Gines “Bing” Gallaga, personally welcomed and extended support and assistance to the repatriates inside the airport, ensuring a smooth, safe, and orderly departure process for our kababayans during this important journey home. Embassy personnel, together with MWO Bahrain and OWWA Bahrain, worked closely to provide immediate assistance, guidance, and welfare support throughout the operation.

The Embassy remains steadfast in its commitment to protect the welfare and well-being of Overseas Filipinos, especially during times of uncertainty and crisis. Through continued coordination and compassionate public service, the Philippine Embassy, MWO Bahrain, and OWWA Bahrain continue to stand beside every Filipino in need.

Ipinaaalam ng Migrant Workers Office – Bahrain na ang pagtanggap ng aplikasyon para sa One-Time Financial Assistance ay pansamantalang isususpinde simula 16 Mayo 2026 hanggang sa susunod na abiso.

Hinihikayat ang lahat ng aplikante na kumpletuhin at isumite ang kanilang rehistrasyon bago ang nasabing petsa. Pagkalipas ng nasabing araw, pansamantalang isasara ang registration link hanggang sa maglabas muli ng abiso.

The Philippine Embassy in the Kingdom of Bahrain informs the members of the Filipino community in Bahrain that the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) of the Republic of the Philippines has launched the Fully Digital Apostille (eApostille) for Philippine Statistics Authority electronic Certificates (PSA eCertificates) and Commission on Higher Education electronic Certification, Authentication, and Verification (CHED eCAVS), as part of the Philippine’s efforts to facilitate the secure issuance and use of public documents among Contracting Parties to the Apostille Convention.

In view of this latest development, the Embassy informs the public of the following:

1. The Kingdom of Bahrain is a Contracting Party to the Apostille Convention.

2. Only eApostilles will be issued for submission to Apostille Contracting Parties (including Bahrain).

3. No Paper Apostille will be issued by the DFA for PSA eCertificates (covering civil registry documents) and CHED eCAVS (covering academic documents).
