كشفت دراسة علمية نشرتها مجلة الشرق الأدنى عن معطيات جديدة تتعلق بالهيكل الإداري والسياسي لحضارة دلمون، استنادًا إلى تحليل ثلاث قطع طينية مختومة (Tokens) عُثر عليها خلال عمليات التنقيب في مواقع أثرية بمملكة البحرين. وقد نفذت هيئة البحرين للثقافة والآثار عمليات التنقيب في هذه المواقع بالتعاون مع مجموعة من الخبراء الدوليين، بقيادة المتخصص في حضارة دلمون، الدكتور ستيفن تيرب لورسن، وأسفرت هذه الجهود عن اكتشاف أثر مميز في منطقة الخليج العربي.

A scientific study published in the Journal of Near Eastern Studies has revealed new insights into the administrative and political structure of the Dilmun civilisation, based on an analysis of three inscribed clay tokens discovered during archaeological excavations at sites in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The excavations were carried out by the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities in collaboration with a team of international experts led by Dr. Steffen Terp Laursen, a specialist in Dilmun civilisation. The findings have resulted in a significant archaeological discovery for the Arabian Gulf region.

From Dhaka, the beating heart of Bangladesh, artists Kuhu, Kanak, Jamal Ahmed, and Mohamed Iqbal draw inspiration for their works, capturing the city’s rhythms, colours, and everyday beauty, and translating them into compelling artistic visions.
The exhibition “From the Core to the Periphery: Kaleidoscope Journey” carries the spirit of Dhaka, weaving its stories into poetic images and meanings inspired by the rhythms of rural and urban life.

نظّمت هيئة البحرين للثقافة والآثار فعالية "الحيّة بيّة "على شاطئ قلعة بوماهر بمدينة المحرّق، وذلك بحضور الشيخ محمد بن خليفة آل خليفة مدير عام التراث، وعددٍ من مدراء ومسؤولي الهيئة، وسط مشاركة واسعة من الأطفال والعائلات.
وشهدت الفعالية برنامجاً مكثفاً ومتنوعاً، جمع بين الموسيقى التراثية والحكاية الشعبية والأنشطة المستلهمة من البيئة البحرية، وبدوره سرد الحكواتي بابا ياسين مجموعة من القصص المرتبطة بدلالات "الحيّة بيّة" ومحاكاتها بصيغة شيقة للأطفال، ساقها ضمن رمزية ثقافية واجتماعية في تعبير عن علاقة الإنسان البحريني بالبحر والطبيعة والموروث الشعبي، إضافةً إلى استحضار القيم الروحية والاجتماعية المرتبطة بيوم عرفة وعيد الأضحى المبارك.

The Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities organised the “Heya Beya” event at Qal’at Bu Mahir in Muharraq, attended by Shaikh Mohamed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Director General of Heritage, along with a number of the Authority’s directors and officials, and with wide participation from children and families.
The event featured a diverse range of activities combining traditional music, folk storytelling, and experiences inspired by maritime heritage. Storyteller Baba Yaseen presented a selection of stories connected to the symbolism of “Heya Beya” through engaging storytelling for children, drawing on cultural and social meanings that reflect the Bahraini people’s relationship with the sea, nature, and folk traditions, while also highlighting the spiritual and social values associated with the Day of Arafah and Eid Al Adha.

احتفاءً باليوم العالمي للمتاحف نظمت هيئة البحرين للثقافة والآثار برنامجًا متنوعًا من الفعاليات خلال الفترة من 16 إلى 23 مايو 2026، حيث سلط الضوء على مكانة المتاحف كفضاءات عامة وموثوقة، وجزء أساسي من النسيج الاجتماعي المشترك.
وأقيمت الفعاليات في كل من متحف البحرين الوطني، ومتحف موقع قلعة البحرين، ومتحف البريد، إلى جانب مشاركة متحف كانو ضمن إطار الشراكة الثقافية بين القطاعين العام والخاص، وذلك من خلال تنظيم مجموعة من الجولات الإرشادية، وورش العمل التفاعلية، والمحاضرات المتخصصة التي تستهدف مختلف الفئات العمرية.

In celebration of International Museum Day, the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities organised a diverse array of events from 16 to 23 May 2026, highlighting the role of museums as trusted public spaces and an essential part of the shared social fabric.
The events took place across the Bahrain National Museum, Qal’at al-Bahrain Site Museum, and the Post Office Museum, alongside Kanoo Museum as part of the cultural partnership between public and private sectors. The events featured a range of tours, workshops, and lectures designed for different age groups.
