🤝 Working seamlessly side by side.

Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force JS Yuudachi 🇯🇵 and Armada ship CANARIAS 🇪🇸 conduct a PASSEX while deployed on counter piracy missions in and around the Gulf of Aden.

The two ships are working for CMF and European Union Naval Force - Operation Atalanta 🇪🇺 respectively, essential partner organisations in countering the illicit activities of non-state actors at sea.

Conducting manoeuvres like this in close quarters helps crews strengthen their understanding of each others procedures, tests communication and helps practise cooperation for when the ships target suspect vessels for real.

We were proud to co-chair the 17th Industry Strategic Meeting organised by Operation European Union Naval Force - Operation Atalanta based in Bahrain.

The 17th Industry Strategic Meeting organised by Operation ATALANTA and co-chaired by the Combined Maritime Forces based in Bahrein, and European Union Naval Force - Operation Aspides, gathered from 2 to 3 June in Madrid together with the shipping industry, and other key organizations to discuss the current threats in the West Indian Ocean, the Strait of Hormuz and the Red Sea.

CTF 151 Delivers Counter Piracy Operation ⚓️

CTF 151 has successfully delivered Operation VIGILANTIA MARIS in the Gulf of Aden, bringing together forces from 10 nations to deter piracy and protect vital shipping lanes. 🌍

Targeted patrols, coordinated responses, and enhanced surveillance reinforced maritime security in this critical region.

UK Royal Marines joined European Union Naval Force - Operation Atalanta and Seychelles Defence Forces for training in Close Quarters Battle (CQB); practising how to regain a ship taken by pirates or other illicit actors.

Training together ensures best understanding and effective collaboration should the worst happen for real.

European Union Naval Force - Operation Atalanta, Seychelles Defence Forces and CMF forces combine for joint training from exchanging medical expertise to legal knowledge and enhancing tactical capabilities.

Unified training builds the mutual trust needed to save lives during maritime operations.

During his time at Ex , Commander CTF 151, Capt Eacock RN made a number of office calls with key Seychelles Defence Force Leaders including Seychelles Coast Guard, Seychelles Air Force and Seychelles Special Operations.

Ensuring continued collaboration and increasing awareness of challenges we face are important to protecting our shared interests in the Indian Ocean.
