The Ministry of Public Works and Environment notes that officers from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources and the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo are actively investigating the report. Authorities are treating the matter with the utmost seriousness while efforts continue to locate and safely remove the animal.
Anyone who believes they have seen the snake should immediately contact 9-11. Members of the public are urged not to approach, capture or harm the animal.
If it can be done from a safe distance, maintain visual contact with the snake until authorities arrive. Sudden movements that may provoke the snake should be avoided.
Residents and members of the public in the vicinity of Gibbs Hill Road are advised to avoid entering dense vegetation or reaching into areas where visibility is limited, such as beneath boards, inside pipes or other enclosed spaces, where the snake may be concealed.
As a precaution, nearby residents, first responders, and healthcare services are being notified. Residents in the surrounding area are encouraged to remain vigilant, and pet owners should keep pets indoors or under close supervision until further notice becomes available. 🇧🇲

The initiative supports Bermuda's agricultural sector by equipping farmers with practical management techniques while strengthening a coordinated, island-wide approach to reducing feral chicken populations.
Residents can also play their part by avoiding feeding feral chickens and reporting issues through the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.
