His Excellency Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr.) Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, the Minister of Home Affairs attended the G20 Labour and Employment Ministers’ Meeting virtually on the 23rd June 2021 at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Bandar Seri Begawan, Negara Brunei Darussalam.

The session was officiated by His Excellency Mr. Andrea Orlando, Italian Minister of Labour and Social Policies. Brunei Darussalam was invited as the ASEAN Chair for 2021 and had the opportunity to share some of the progressive and meaningful work that the ASEAN Member States have initiated as deliverables for this year in respect of the priorities proposed by the chair of the G20 2021.

Yang Berhormat, Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Dr. Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, the Minister of Home Affairs, and the official delegation of Brunei Darussalam had attended the virtual 109th International Labour Conference (ILC). The plenary session of the Conference currently being held from 07 until 19 June 2021. On 08 June 2021, the Minister of Home Affairs had delivered his plenary statement to the virtual Conference.

The Department of Labour, Ministry of Home Affairs, hosted the 14th Meeting of the ASEAN Committee on the Implementation of the ASEAN Declaration on the Protection and Promotion of the Rights of Migrant Workers (or ACMW) virtually on 27 to 28 April 2021 at the International Convention Centre (ICC) Berakas, Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam.
