Futuro Bolivia

Futuro was founded in 1989 as a project led by a group of volunteers with the goal of helping low-income Bolivian women that are patients at a women’s local clinic, the Hospital de la Mujer. Helping unemployed women, Futuro started generating income through the manufacturing and sale of products made with a traditional textile called “aguayo”. With time, the project improved the quality of the designs developing more products and giving steady support to increasingly more people. In addition, a percentage of the income generated from the sale of products is donated back to the Hospital de la Mujer to pay for more women’s medical expenses.
