Week 12 on the rivers of Tsimane.

Clear water in the Upper Sécure produced a 16-pound female dorado in water that barely seemed large enough to hold her. At Pluma, big dorado came early, including one on the very first cast of the trip. And at Agua Negra, dropping rivers brought strong hunting opportunities before Jordon closed the week with a +20-pound dorado and a broken rod.

Good water. Big fish. Different stories across all three lodges.

Week 11 on the rivers of Tsimane.

Nine big dorado that never made it to the bank at Sécure. A 95-centimeter dorado rising for a mouse at Pluma. And at Agua Negra, rain set the river in motion, with hunting dorado and an incredible 11 fish landed in a single hour.

But some of the best moments of a fishing trip never make it into a photograph.

A quiet ride back to the lodge. A few words from a returning guest. The work of the local guides. The fish we landed, and the ones we didn’t.

Week 10 on the rivers of Tsimane.

Two 24-pound female dorado sharing the top spot at Sécure. 20-pound fish coming from water that feels more like a trout stream. Big dorado and pacú rewarding a return to Agua Negra. And at Pluma, two unusual surubí, including one landed in completely turbid water.

A week of unexpected fish, changing water, and memorable moments on and off the river.

And as our Week 10 coincides with the farewell of one of the most unforgettable No. 10s, we dedicate this Fishing Report to Lionel Messi, and to everyone who keeps following their passion, wherever it may lead them.

Some fishing days are measured in fish. Others are measured in moments.

Across Sécure, Agua Negra, and Pluma, Week 9 brought the full pulse of Tsimane: powerful dorado, unexpected encounters, clear water, overnight stories around camp, and the wild presence of the jungle at every turn.

From double hookups and a 20-pound dorado to pacú on a dead drift, tapirs moving through the forest, and jaguars along the riverbanks, this is a place where the fishing is only part of the story.

Some places remain wild because they’ve been cared for long before anyone came to fish them.

At Tsimane, we work in Indigenous territory alongside the Tsimane, Yuracaré, and Moxeño-Trinitario. Whose ancestral knowledge of the forest and rivers is an essential part of this project.

Some of the most important lessons we’ve learned about these rivers were never written in a guidebook. They have been passed down through generations of indigenous people.

Today, we recognize the Indigenous communities whose knowledge, stewardship, and connection to the land continue to protect these landscapes for future generations.
