Fresh fruit, ocean breeze and a little taste of BAMSI. 🍈🌊

Minister of State for Agriculture and Marine Resources with responsibility for BAMSI Leonardo Lightbourne stopped by the BAMSI booth during Crab Fest and sampled some coconut water and one of our locally grown papayas.

Safe to say it was well received. 😄

BAMSI and its alumni joined agricultural stakeholders at the Ministry of Agriculture and Marine Resources' Food Security Showcase in Rawson Square earlier this week, highlighting the importance of local food production and food security.

Among those participating in the event were BAMSI graduates Romeo Josey, Coordinator of the Agriculture and Marine Cadets Programme; Travone Pinder, Agriculture Development Officer; Alexandria Sinclair of the Department of Marine Resources and Jamie Rolle, each representing their respective agencies and programmes while engaging with members of the public.

Visitors to the BAMSI booth had the opportunity to learn more about the Institute's academic programmes, professional certifications and training opportunities. Guests were also treated to samples of fresh watermelon slices, cucumber salad and melon cubes prepared using produce grown at BAMSI.

The strong presence of BAMSI alumni throughout the showcase reflected the Institute's ongoing role in preparing professionals who are helping to advance agriculture, marine resources and food security in The Bahamas.
