๐Ÿฉบ Most people donโ€™t realize thisโ€ฆ high blood pressure often has no warning signs.

Thatโ€™s why hypertension is often called the โ€œsilent killer.โ€ Many people may feel completely fine while their blood pressure is quietly affecting their heart, brain, and kidneys.

On World Hypertension Day, DPH encourages everyone to take small steps that can make a big difference:

๐Ÿ”นDrink more water
๐Ÿ”นReduce salt and processed foods
๐Ÿ”นStay physically active
๐Ÿ”นGet enough rest
๐Ÿ”นCheck your blood pressure regularly

โœจ Your health is worth paying attention to. Small lifestyle changes today can help protect your future.

๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿฝโ€โš•๏ธ Today, we celebrate the heart of healthcare; our nurses.

On International Nurses Day, the Department of Public Health proudly recognizes the compassionate, hardworking, and dedicated nurses who continue to care for, comfort, and advocate for our communities every single day.

Whether offering reassurance in difficult moments, providing lifesaving care, or going the extra mile for patients and families, nurses make an impact that reaches far beyond the walls of healthcare facilities.

To all nurses: your compassion does not go unnoticed, your sacrifices are appreciated, and your service truly makes a difference.โœจ

Help us celebrate our incredible nurses by sharing this post and tagging a nurse who has made a difference in your life.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพ

๐Ÿ’ Happy International Nurses Day!

The Ministry of Health and Wellness, in collaboration with the Department of Public Health, continues to strengthen the public healthcare system in The Bahamas. One of the many ways this is being achieved is through the digitization of patient information, improving accessibility and efficiency of care not only in Nassau, but throughout the Family Islands.
