The Paro Tshechu is one of the biggest festivals in the country. On the first day, all mask dances are held inside the courtyard of the Dzong. In the subsequent days, the courtyard outside the dzong hosts the festival.

Buddha Dordenma is a gigantic Shakyamuni Buddha statue in the mountains of Bhutan celebrating the 60th anniversary of fourth king Jigme Singye Wangchuck. The statue houses over thousands smaller Buddha statues, each of which, like the Buddha Dordenma itself, are made of bronze and gilded in gold

Duechen Nga Zom is observed on the 15th day of the fourth month of the Bhutanese calendar yearly. This year it falls on 29th may (Tuesday) and is a National Holiday in Bhutan.
